God of War Ragnarok: Gameplay, Price, Review and Release Date

Everything you need to know about the game!

God of War Ragnarok is finally coming out. Playstation games can’t wait to play the game, but before that, they have lots of questions about its’ gameplay, price, and review on how good this game is!

God of war was first released in 2005 and created by David Jaffe at Santa Monica Studio. The game quickly became one of the top-selling games for Sony’s Playstation 2, which got them a lot of sales. The same fate was followed by God of War 2, released in 2007, and then God of War 3 in 2010. These three games became the main trilogy and a goldmine for Sony’s Playstation to get more people to get their console to experience this title.

Then fans had to wait 8 long years to see another installment of the game, which was released in 2018, God of War 4, which became “Game of the Year” for the same year. Quickly became the highest-selling Playstation exclusive, followed by Marvel’s Spider-Man series.

To be noted, PlayStation is considered the powerhouse of blockbuster games, including Marvel’s Spider-man, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted, and many others on the list.

Ragnarok Editions

The game developers are releasing Four editions of Ragnarok:

  1. Standard Edition
  2. Digital Deluxe Edition
  3. Collector’s Edition
  4. Jotnar Edition

Getting each of these editions will have its own giveaways. Let’s see what each edition has to offer.

Standard Edition

(At launch) God of War Ragnarok is available in a standard edition, including the base game and two cosmetic items. Whether you buy a physical or digital copy, PS4 owners can upgrade to the PS5 version for $10.

Digital Deluxe

Ragnarok’s Digital Deluxe Edition will include much in-game content and bonuses. You will unlock all in-game rewards as you progress through the story. In addition, the game is available for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It is still unknown how much it will cost, but it will at least cost $80. You get the following with the Digital Deluxe Edition:

Collector’s Edition

As for Ragnarok’s Collector’s Edition, no price has been announced yet, but it will surely sell out quickly once it becomes available. The price is probably pretty high, too. It all starts with the ornate box that comes with the Collector’s Edition. In God of War, the Knowledge Keeper’s Shrine appeared in this box.

A digital copy of Ragnarok is included in the Collector’s Edition for both the PS5 and PS4. Since the CE comes in a steel bookcase emblazoned with the Bear and the Wolf, it’s a bit of a bummer that it doesn’t include a physical disc. The Collector’s Edition of God of War Ragnarok includes:

As part of the Digital Deluxe Edition, you also get all the following goodies:

Jotnar Edition

Introducing the Jotnar Edition, the ultimate edition for fans. There are almost all the features of the Collector’s Edition and a few extras. Although the price isn’t known yet, it’ll probably be a bit more than the Collector’s Edition. There will be a price tag attached. With the Jotnar Edition, you get the following exclusive items:

In addition, you receive a 16-inch Mjolnir replica, a 2-inch Vanir Twin carving, a steel bookcase, and a digital code for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

Check out the unboxing video below to see if the Collector’s Edition is something that interests you.

Pre-Order

The pre-order of the game will be open in the last week of October 2022 on Sony’s official website. People who pre-order the game will get exclusive bonuses for availing of the game before anyone else.

Bonuses

You will get two cosmetics if you pre-order the game:

  1. Atreus Risen Snow Tunic
  2. Kratos Risen Snow Armor

These two items will be redeemed by the code you will get in the box. You will get these two items only if you pre-order any game edition. Otherwise, you’ll have to work harder in the game to get these two cosmetics.

Trailer

A new trailer for Ragnarok’s long-awaited sequel has also been released. That trailer was little more than a CG demo, but it featured the first glimpse we’ve ever had at a giant wolf from Norse mythology that has confounded GoW fans.

This giant wolf appears to be Fenrir, the mythological beast that bit off T*r’s hand in the God of War Ragnarok trailer, although it was never officially identified.

Furthermore, he played a minor role (or as small a role as he could play) in Thor: Ragnarok (under the name Fenris). In God of War Ragnarok’s world, there seems to be another wolf as big as a large building, if not Fenrir.

God Of War Ragnarok Price

If you’re wondering how much god the of war Ragnarok is gonna cost. It will sell for $59 for the PS4 version and $79 for the PS5 version.

The pricing for PS5 is a bit higher than PS4 due to its FPS quality. In PS4, the gameplay will be locked at 30 FPS. While, in the PS5, the game will reach up to 60 FPS giving more details, smooth gameplay, and crisp colors compared to the Playstation 4 version.

Will There Be Thor In God Of War Ragnarok

It has been reported that the voice actor of the character Thor, Ryan Hurst, has finished doing the voiceover for Thor’s character for Ragnarok. Ryan Hurst also appeared in The Walking Dead.

However, In an interview, he confirmed that he has only done voiceover, not the motion capture.

It is not yet confirmed that Thor will be a playable character in the game or will just follow some storyline. Or there will be a possibility that Thor’s character playable or storytelling will be available as a part of the season pass, but it is still unconfirmed right now.

But we will be seeing Thor in Ragnarok.

Gameplay

The gameplay will be released on the official Playstation Youtube channel. The gameplay was expected in E3 2022, but it was canceled at the last minute. However, the company has promised to release the gameplay at the end of October 2022.

Map

In a Ragnarok special edition, Ragnarok’s realms are shown together for the first time on a map.

Ragnarok Jotnar edition of Ragnarok (revealed yesterday alongside the release date announcement) includes a cloth map of all nine realms, as noted in this GoWnsubreddit post.

Sony Santa Monica’s game series (and, y’know, Norse mythology) are shown together for the first time.

The new cloth map reveals some exciting details. Some GoW fans believe the mysterious figure depicted on the cloth map of Muspelheim is Surtur, the fire demon and Lord of Muspelheim.

According to Ragnarok, we can also see what appears to be Asgard, where the imposing Thor lives. Asgard seems pierced by a massive beam of Bifrost in this depiction.

Ending NoteBuy it Cheap (Deals)

Undoubtedly, GoW is one of the best game series out there. As a part of our deal section, we keep our readers updated about the discounts.

We will update the discount deals for Ragnarok once it is released. You’ll have to wait to see them in this section until we start getting the discounts.

The game’s developers have declared that it would be the last in the GoW series as they do not want the story to be longer, which can make the game boring. Santa Monica Studio said they want the gamers to remember the game to be one of the best.

Sony is again giving the world a reason why their consoles are the best. However, we might not see the game on PC or Xbox because it will shake their sales, so it will always be a Playstation exclusive with no plans on coming to other platforms.
