If you’ve ever checked the stats screen in Windrose and felt like the numbers were judging you, you’re not alone. Every time you level up, the game gives you a small pool of points called Stat Points. Use them wisely, and you can become a legendary pirate. Make poor choices, and you’ll feel emotionally connected to every respawn point you encounter.
Each Point influences aspects like your attack strength and how long you stay alive. This guide explains what Stat Points do and how to make the best use of them.
### What Are Stat Points?
Stat Points are a key part of progressing in Windrose. Each time you level up, you earn Stat Points that you can invest in specific attributes. These attributes customize your build for your favorite weapons and play style.
To access the Stat Point menu, open your inventory with the ‘I’ key and navigate to the ‘Progression’ tab.
Each Stat affects a different part of your character’s abilities.
| Stat | Effect | Best For |
|————|————————————————————|————————————————|
| Strength | Boosts damage with strength-based weapons like clubs | Heavy melee, slow but high damage attacks |
| Agility | Improves damage with agility-based weapons like greatswords | Mobile combat, balanced fighting style |
| Precision | Raises damage with precision-based weapons like pistols | Ranged combat |
| Mastery | Increases your chance of landing a critical hit | Critical hits, using any weapon |
| Vitality | Adds to your total health | Survivability, tank builds |
| Endurance | Raises your stamina for more actions | Quick movements, frequent attacks |
### How To Earn Stat Points
Every time you level up, you get Stat Points. Leveling up is the main way to grow stronger over time.
### What Are The Best Starting Stats?
Choosing your starting stats early is crucial. Spreading points too wide can leave you underpowered, especially at the beginning. We recommend focusing on one main build and boosting Endurance first for the best start.
