To survive in the dangerous world of Crimson Desert, you need to collect Abyss Artifacts to upgrade your gear and boost Kliff’s abilities. The easiest way to get these artifacts is by completing floating island puzzles in the Abyss.
One such puzzle is called Roots of Truth. You can access it after finishing the Spire of Insight in southern Hernand. Here’s how to complete the Roots of Truth puzzle and get an Abyss Artifact.
Roots of Truth Puzzle Solution
When you arrive at the island, activate the Abyss Gate and go to the bottom of the waterfall. Use your weapon to perform a stabbing attack to break through the water and get to the other side. Follow the staircase and floating platforms upward until you reach a zone with a big fan and two moving laser beams.
Perform a double jump and glide over the fan and lasers to reach the other side. Continue up the stairs until you see a large circular grate. Climb onto it, hold onto it with the Left Trigger, and use a Force Palm strike. This will make the grate spin with you on it. Avoid the laser beam, as contact will damage you and cause you to fall.
Next, climb onto the next circular grate and wait for the laser to go above you. Then, flip back inside the tower and repeat this process of climbing using the rotating grates, moving upward. Eventually, you’ll arrive in a room with a square Abyss Core inside. Use your Axiom Force to grab the core and rotate it horizontally.
Tip: If your stamina isn’t quite maxed out, bring some Honey Tea. There’s no safe way to stand still and recover stamina while climbing this long wall of circular grates.
Carefully slide the Abyss Core into the matching horizontal hole above you. Once in place, grab onto the grate where the lasers pass and spin yourself to the outside again. Climb up the floating platforms and look for a slit in the floor that looks into the room you just left. It’s right next to the large tree.
Grab the Abyss Core through the hole in the floor and rotate it so it can fit into the open space. After removing it from the small room, place it into the square receptacle behind you to activate one of the spinning fans.
Next, look downward at the spinning fan and go left to the large tree branch shown above. Land on the branch and find a hole in the wall containing another square Abyss Core. Hang onto the ledge or float in the air to grab it, then guide the core up to the spinning fan’s location and fit it into the slot opposite where the previous Abyss Core was placed.
Warning: Be extremely careful when moving the Abyss Core upward. The organic shape of the branches makes it easy to slip and fall off. If you fall, you can try to use Axiom Force to pull yourself back up. Falling to the ground means you’ll have to restart the puzzle.
Once both fans are powered and the large circular switch above is active, follow the tree branches to the right, descending carefully to the top. Climb down to the circular switch and strike it with Force to finish the Roots of Truth puzzle. Return to the altar at the top to earn an Abyss Artifact as your reward.
You can keep exploring these islands by passing through the triangular gate behind the Abyss Altar.
