How To Open The Overlord Gate
As you get closer to the signal in the Shattered Rise, you’ll come across a large sealed gate. You won’t be able to open it in this area when you first arrive, so you’ll need to head up along the side path. Keep exploring this area until you unlock the teleporter, which will send you back to this gate. When you return, interact with the glowing tank on your right to break the seal on the gate.
Tip: Before moving forward, open the containers nearby. They contain your last bonuses before facing the Overlord.
Inside, you’ll find several enemies blocking your way. Defeat them to reveal a big hole underground. When you’re ready, jump down to confront the Overlord.
How To Beat The Prophet Boss
The Prophet is the first major boss Arjun faces on Carcosa, and it’s a tough opponent unlike anything you’ve encountered so far. The fight has three phases, each getting harder.
Phase One Strategy
The fight begins with starfish-like enemies attached to the walls, protecting the Prophet’s core. You need to defeat these enemies to get the Prophet’s attention. When it opens at the center, it will shoot projectiles at you. Use these enemies to boost your shield, then attack the Prophet. When vulnerable, the Prophet will send diagonal waves of corrupted projectiles, plus a straight wave. Dash through these attacks to stay safe and keep firing at the Prophet’s core.
Phase Two Strategy
Once you weaken the Prophet enough, you move into the second phase, which isn’t too different from the first. At this stage, the Prophet releases smaller enemies onto the ground. These foes spray corruption along the floor, so eliminate them quickly. After clearing the ground enemies, focus again on the walls. Sometimes these ground enemies drop aether, so pick it up when you can.
To dodge the corruption, jump over it and dash to avoid the patterns. Keep reducing the Prophet’s health until it hits zero, which triggers the final phase.
Phase Three Strategy
The last phase is the most dangerous. The arena becomes a single lane filled with constant waves of projectiles. The Prophet repeats its corruption attacks, and the floor pulses with rings of dangerous projectiles. This phase tests your skills, requiring you to predict the attack patterns, leap side to side, and keep your distance so you have time to react.
Warning: Do not try to block the attacks—they will just cause you to fall to corruption. Instead, stay mobile, jump, and dash to avoid damage.
Keep firing at the Prophet. Landing perfect reloads will boost your firepower and improve your reload speed, helping you defeat it faster. Aim to get a perfect reload every time to maximize your chances. When the Prophet finally falls, follow the path behind it to unlock the next area.
