Duo is one of the fastest ways to earn silver in Crimson Desert, especially if you understand how to beat the game. It’s a complicated game with many hands and strategies happening at once. But if you’re not interested in learning the detailed rules, there’s an easier way to always come out on top and win every time.
If you’re tired of wasting effort and silver on a game you don’t fully understand, we have a simple method to clear out the Duo table and grab all the silver coins waiting there.
How to Play Duo
Duo, also called “sticks,” is similar to Poker. Your goal is to make the best two-stick hand possible to beat other players. You can usually find a Duo game in most taverns around Pywel, often marked with a question mark (?) outside.
Which Duo Hands Are the Best?
Duo hands are tricky and sorted into different tiers, with the best hands at the top (tier 1) and the weakest at the bottom (tier 5). Here’s a quick overview:
| Tier | Best Hand | Second Best | Third Best |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Prime Pair (Three & Eight) | — | — |
| 2 | Executor (Four & Seven) | Superior Pair (One & Three, One & Nine) | — |
| 3 | Ten Pair (Ten & Ten) | — | — |
| 4 | Judge | Pair | High Warden (Red Nine & Four) |
| 5 | Warden (Nine & Four), One-Two, One-Four, One-Nine, One-Ten, Four-Ten, Four-Six | — | — |
Even if your hand isn’t the best, you can bluff your opponents by pretending your hand is stronger than it actually is. Bluffing can sometimes make others fold, but it’s risky because they might call if they have a better hand. Still, there’s an easy way to win without fully understanding the game — just by watching what other players do.
How to Win at Duo Every Time
Duo involves luck and skill. But if you’re observant, you can almost always win. When you watch other players carefully, you can learn their tricks and even cheat yourself if you’re bold enough. The best approach guarantees you leave each game with all the silver tucked away in your pocket.
How to Catch Cheaters in Duo
If you prefer to avoid betting and hand strategies, focus on spotting cheaters. There are two main ways to do this:
-
While they deal:
- Watch their elbow, thumb, and how they handle the sticks.
- Cheaters often show signs: if their thumb faces up, their elbow stays down, or they grab sticks from the side instead of on top, they are cheating.
-
While they’re dealing:
- Observe which arm they use to lay down sticks.
- Cheaters will often lay down sticks with their right hand.
- If they use their left hand, they’re likely playing honestly — no need to accuse.
Remember to keep in mind the player’s perspective when judging: their left from your right.
When you spot cheating and catch them in the act by paying close attention, you learn their methods. This can be risky, but it also allows you to cheat yourself if you choose. Catching cheaters gets them removed from the game, and their money gets split among the remaining players. If everyone cheating gets caught, you get all their silver automatically, allowing you to sweep up every coin without even playing.
Using this tactic at higher-stakes tables can earn you hundreds of silver quickly by recognizing cheating signals.
