What Are Mods?
In Pragmata, you’ll find plenty of options to customize your loadouts—such as the weapons you carry, defensive units, and hacking nodes. Early in the game, you’ll unlock mods that boost Hugh’s stats when heading into new areas. At first, you can equip only one mod, but you can upgrade your loadout by purchasing more mod slots at the Unit Printer, using Lunafilament, Pure Lunum, or both. As you explore deeper into the moon’s secrets, having more mods becomes increasingly helpful, so it’s smart to buy additional slots whenever possible.
Mods mostly provide combat benefits for Hugh. They fall into four categories:
- Attack Mods — Offer various combat advantages like increased damage, faster attack speeds, or bonuses against specific enemies. The most numerous type, you’re likely to find ones suited for your style.
- Hacking Capability Mods — Improve Diana’s hacking skills, such as extending hacking range or making enemies stay exposed longer.
- Defense Mods — Help increase Hugh’s health, reduce damage taken, or improve survivability during fights.
- Support Mods — Cover miscellaneous enhancements that don’t fit into the other categories.
You can swap out mods each time you leave the Shelter to adapt to different combat situations, which is highly recommended.
How to Unlock More Mods
Mods are scattered around each sector and are often hidden within locked chests or secret pathways. If you see an unusual hallway or locked door, check it out; Diana’s scan ability, once upgraded, can help locate these hidden mods. Hidden mods are marked with a paper-and-gear icon, and Diana will notify you if she detects one nearby.
Some mods are rewards from optional challenges or puzzles, including Red Zone combat trials, training simulations, or side quests like Cabin’s Bingo Boards. These provide different ways to earn mods as you progress.
