“Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss” has six different endings to find. All of these endings are accessible at the same decision point near the end of Chapter 7. There’s no risk of missing out on any endings earlier in the game, so you can explore them all without worry.
Your available endings depend on how you’ve managed your Corruption gauge throughout the game. A final three-choice decision at the end determines which ending you’ll see. Here’s what you need to know to reach each one.
There are six endings to unlock, all happening in Chapter 7. The key factor is your Corruption level during the game. If your Corruption gauge is completely full, you’ll naturally be taken to a High-Corruption ending, which can be considered the bad ending. If you manage to complete the game without ever filling up the gauge, you’ll end with a Low-Corruption ending. Even if your gauge is high but not fully maxed out by the end, you’ll still get a Low-Corruption ending.
To get a High-Corruption ending, be sure to choose the High-Corruption options for every puzzle choice in the chapters. The small amount of Corruption gained from each choice adds up, but solving puzzles with Low-Corruption options can prevent reaching the desired ending.
At the end of the short Chapter 7, you will face a final decision with three options:
- Elsa (on the left)
- Eye (on the right)
- Star of Shamash (center)
Each of these options has two versions: one on the Low-Corruption route and one on the High-Corruption route. The choice you make determines which ending you see. Once you’ve experienced one ending, you can reload your save and quickly replay the final chapter to discover the other two endings you’ve unlocked in your current playthrough.
