As you journey through Miraland in Infinity Nikki, you’ll encounter various formats of Whimstars. A more interactive way to collect them is by exploring the intriguing purple gateways called Curio Domains.
When you step into the different Curio Domains in Infinity Nikki, you’ll have the opportunity to tackle brief puzzles in exchange for a Whimstar. If you don’t solve a puzzle on your first attempt, you can revisit these Curio Domains anytime by returning to the vibrant purple squares scattered around.
Updated on February 2, 2025: Now that Infinity Nikki has been out for a while, we’re updating our overview of Curio Domains to include fresh insights and links to our other guides published since the game’s release.
Understanding Curio Domains
Where Can You Find Curio Domains?
As you advance through the main storyline of Infinity Nikki, pay attention to when Momo alerts you about nearby Whimstars. His unique ability to sense them is invaluable. Occasionally, you’ll also spot Whimstars appearing as purplish-pink cubes in the game world.
Approaching one of these mysterious cubes will open a large portal for Nikki to enter a Curio Domain. The first one you encounter will likely be in Florawish, drawing you toward it as you enter town for the first time. The game will walk you through how to step into these portals and engage in simple puzzles to earn a Whimstar.
If you find a Curio Domain puzzle that you want to skip or come back to later, simply turn around and exit through the same portal you entered. It’s right behind Nikki when she steps in, taking you back to Miraland without any hassle.
Once you’ve completed a puzzle in a Curio Domain and claimed your Whimstar, Nikki will be teleported back outside. From this point on, the cube will show as gray in the overworld, preventing you from revisiting puzzles you’ve already solved.
There are also Courses focused on collecting Whimstars, including one called No Prime Powers for Me! that highlights Whimstars specifically from Curio Domains. To complete this Course fully, you’ll need to conquer a total of 50 Curio Domains, leaving the choice of which ones to tackle up to you.
What Can You Do Inside a Curio Domain?
Inside Curio Domains, you’ll encounter a variety of physical puzzles that challenge the skills you’ve acquired. If you’re unsure about your objective upon entering, simply walk down the steps by the entrance, and a prompt will clarify your goal.
While many Whimstars in Miraland are easy to collect, the ones in Curio Domains require you to solve specific puzzles to access them. These puzzles involve a range of tasks, including:
- Moving Nikki across the area using shifting platforms and her Floating Outfit, often demanding precise platforming skills.
- Adjusting levers and switches to navigate a ball from one end of a puzzle to a goal area, where finding the goal before starting helps in orienting the ball correctly.
- Aligning patterns on items that have become mismatched, such as rotating pillars, requiring you to lock certain parts to line them up accurately.
- Stepping on platforms in a designated sequence to activate them without falling or leaving the puzzle area. One common type shows an overview where pegs are marked in green and red; you must remember the green pegs since the red ones will drop away.
No matter what puzzle you face in a Curio Domain, your reward will always be a new Whimstar (or a Whim Balloon on the Firework Isles) to enhance your collection. After claiming your Whimstar, you’ll be sent back outside and can continue your adventure through Miraland, now one Whimstar richer.
