Assassin’s Creed Odyssey changes things up from previous games by letting you make choices that impact the world around you. It’s a full role-playing game with multiple ways the story can end.
Of course, what’s considered the best ending depends on your personal taste. Most fans agree that the happiest ending is where all your family members—Myrrine, Nikolaos, Deimos, Stentor, and yourself—are alive and reunited. This is known as the “Family” ending.
As of May 3rd, 2026, this game remains popular because of the many choices you can make. We’ve updated this guide to help you get the game’s best ending more easily.
Every Major Choice To Get The Best Ending
To unlock the best ending, you need to make six key decisions involving different characters:
- Don’t kill Nikolaos in Chapter Two.
- Avoid upsetting Deimos in Chapter Three.
- Tell Myrrine you’ll try to save Deimos in Chapter Six.
- Convince Nikolaos to help Stentor in Chapter Seven.
- Help Deimos break free from brainwashing in Chapter Eight.
- Refuse to fight Deimos in Chapter Nine.
These choices are grouped by character to help you easily follow the correct path, no matter your story progress.
Note: Deimos is the most complex part of this ending. Every interaction builds either goodwill or anger, which influences the final outcome. Keep in mind that small decisions in your interactions with Deimos matter a lot later on.
Tip: Decisions not directly tied to these key moments usually won’t change the ending. But it’s always good to save often, so you can replay and try different choices if you want a different ending.
Nikolaos Decisions
Nikolaos is your stepfather, and rebuilding trust with him is critical for the best ending. Two main choices involve him:
- Do not kill him.
- Convince him to help Stentor.
Choosing to kill Nikolaos will prevent you from saving Stentor later.
Chapter Two — Do Not Kill Nikolaos:
In the early story missions, you’ll search for Nikolaos, who betrayed you as a child. You need to earn the trust of Stentor, Nikolaos’s son, by helping him and participating in battles. When Nikolaos requests a meeting, you have options—you can either seek revenge or ask for answers. Pick “I’ve come to get answers,” which allows Nikolaos to escape, leaving him alive for later.
Chapter Seven — Convince Nikolaos to Help Stentor:
Later, you help Stentor weaken the Athenian forces by killing champions. Nikolaos will fight alongside these champions. During this, persuade him to support Stentor directly during a critical conversation. Later, when Stentor is angry and ready to fight Nikolaos, Nikolaos will return and stop the fight, keeping him alive.
Deimos Choices
Deimos is your sibling, taken by the Cult of Kosmos, and is the hardest to save. Building enough goodwill with them is essential to bring them back to sanity.
Key steps include:
- Not aggravating Deimos.
- Helping to unravel their brainwashing.
- Refusing to fight them.
Chapter Three — Don’t Agitate Deimos:
When you meet Deimos after your spear upgrade, stick to passive responses. Don’t provoke anger by choosing aggressive dialogue. The last choices matter most; don’t threaten or fight Deimos.
Chapter Eight — Help Unravel Brainwashing:
During the mission in Pylos, the Cult is present, including Deimos. At the end of the battle, choose to “Hold on!” and try to save Deimos, instead of giving up. When Deimos is captured, dialogue options in jail influence how much goodwill you build before a critical conversation. Stay away from lies and aggressive options.
Chapter Nine — Don’t Fight Deimos:
Toward the end, when Deimos is shot and captured, you face the choice of fighting or not. To save them, tell Myrrine you’ll try to save Deimos and then choose the dialogue options where you affirm your love and refuse violence. If you earn enough goodwill, Deimos will drop their weapon and reconcile.
Telling Myrrine You Will Try To Save Deimos — Chapter Six
Reuniting with your mother, Myrrine, is a key moment. After the battle in Paros, you can choose to tell her “We’ll get him back” or “He’s beyond saving.” Picking the former keeps your options open for the family ending. If you choose the second, you won’t be able to save Deimos later, no matter your other choices.
The Dinner in Sparta
There are nine endings and nine versions of the “Dinner” quest. When all your loved ones survive, they gather for a dinner celebration, joking and playing around together. This ending takes effort but shows a happy family finally united.
The dinner guests also become lieutenant options for your ship, meaning your family can be with you both at the table and on your journey afterward.
In summary:
Making the right choices at these pivotal moments can lead to a joyful family ending, where everyone survives and bonds strengthen.
