Google has published its annual Google Ads safety report, revealing that 8.3 billion ads were removed last year—an increase of nearly 63% compared to the 5.1 billion ads taken down in the previous year. Remarkably, Google reports that 99% of these ads were filtered out before they even went live, thanks to the Gemini system.
In addition to ad removal, the platform suspended approximately 25 million advertiser accounts, restricted 4.8 billion ads, and blocked or limited access to 480 million web pages. Furthermore, actions were taken against 245,000 publisher sites, and 35 policy updates were implemented over the year.
