Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram faced a serious global disruption last night, preventing people from sending messages or downloading media.
Facebook said on Wednesday that the issue of uploading or sending media files on its apps and platforms has now been resolved.
Earlier in the day, many users around the world were unable to send and receive images, videos and other files through their social media platforms (including WhatsApp and Instagram), and social media companies said they were working hard to solve the problem.

“In our daily maintenance operations, we caused a problem that made it difficult for some people to upload or send photos and videos,” Facebook said.
Facebook, which receives tens of millions of dollars a day from advertising revenue, declined to comment when asked if it would return the business.
In a similar incident in March, the company said it would consider returning advertisers’ exposure.
“The disruption seems to be related to internal infrastructure or application issues,” said ThousandEyes, who monitors global Internet traffic.
Some blackouts have frustrated the world’s largest social network users, and many have complained on Twitter.
According to Downdetector.com, the blackout tracking site, more than 14,000 users reported issues on Instagram, while more than 7,500 and 1,600 users complained about Facebook and WhatsApp.
Downdetector’s on-site blackout map shows that the problem is mainly concentrated in parts of Europe and the United States.
In addition to the Facebook app, at about the same time, Twitter is also facing some blackouts. Although people continue to roar on Twitter about power outages, Twitter’s DM delivery and notifications seem to have failed. Twitter support quickly acknowledged the issue. The Twitter bug has also been resolved.
