Footage broadcasted by ABC showed multiple individuals lying on the ground in the aftermath. Witness Harry Wilson, a 30-year-old local, recounted, “I saw at least 10 people on the ground with blood everywhere.” The Israeli President, Isaac Herzog, stated that Jewish visitors lighting Hanukkah candles on the beach were attacked by “vile terrorists.”
Bondi Beach, renowned worldwide and often crowded during warm weekend evenings, was the scene of this tragic event. Alex Ryvchin, co-CEO of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, reflected on the scale of the attack, saying, “If we were targeted intentionally in this way, it’s something none of us could have imagined. It’s horrific.” He also mentioned that his media adviser was wounded during the incident.
