Daniel Ek, Spotify’s CEO, recently stated that the company is considering increasing its subscription price for users in the United States and EU.

Spotify increased its Premium Student account price from £4.99 a month to £5.99, its two-person Duo account to £13.99 a month, and its Premium Family account to £14.99 a month.
As Apple Music and YouTube have recently announced price hikes, Spotify has recently announced a price increase.
Apple announced on Monday that it would increase the price of its Apple Music subscription to $10.99 due to an increase in music licensing costs.
YouTube announced last week that its Premium family plan would increase from $17.99 to $22.99 starting in November, as well as from £17.99 to £19.99 in the UK.
According to Ek, Spotify has raised its prices in more than 46 markets worldwide when its competitors increase their prices.
