Anticipation builds for the highly awaited OnePlus 13R, set to launch in early 2025. Recent leaks from tipster @MysteryLupin offer a glimpse of this successor to the OnePlus 12R.
Rumored to share similarities with the OnePlus Ace 5, which is exclusive to China, the latest photos suggest that the upcoming model may not be released in the green and gold color schemes of its Chinese counterpart. Instead, we could expect options in black or dark gray.
While it’s possible, as noted by TechRadar, that the tipster lacked images of the device in other hues, it’s worth mentioning that prior rumors pointed towards a launch in Nebular Noir and Astral Trail.
A notable improvement from the OnePlus Ace 5 to the OnePlus 13R lies in its rear camera layout. The OnePlus 13R is expected to sport a triple-lens rear camera setup featuring a 50MP primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. Meanwhile, the front is likely to have a 16MP selfie camera. In contrast, the OnePlus Ace 5 comes with a 2MP macro camera in place of a telephoto lens, with its other lenses remaining the same.
There could also be a slight variation in battery size between the two models. The OnePlus 13R is projected to feature a 6,000mAh battery, compared to the 6,415mAh battery found in the OnePlus Ace 5. The real-world implications of this size difference are currently unclear. For comparison, the OnePlus 12R has a 5,500mAh battery.
The OnePlus 13R is anticipated to be officially unveiled to a global audience alongside the OnePlus 13 on January 7. Given that both predecessors have been well received as top Android phones of the previous year, excitement is mounting for their arrival.
