Whenever a new gacha game like Neverness To Everness is released, many players immediately want to know the best characters they can build. After playing for a bit, the game offers a free S-class selector, allowing you to choose any of the standard S-class units.
While it’s important to select characters you like, choosing the right ones can significantly impact your account’s progress. You won’t be able to clear endgame content effectively with weaker characters, so here’s a complete list of units ranked based on their overall strength and usefulness.
Basis of This Tier List

One key thing to remember about NTE is that resources are limited because of the Character Pixels system. This means you can only build a certain number of characters, and with new characters being released every three weeks, making the right choices becomes even more important.
The best approach is to accept that you can’t build everyone and focus on your favorites. This tier list ranks characters based on their general power and utility while emphasizing those that are hardest to replace in future content.
Since NTE is still early in its development, tier lists are constantly changing. Some entries here might not match your opinions because all tier lists are subjective.
Below are the tiers used in this list and what they mean:
| Tier | Description |
|---|---|
| S-Tier | Characters that excel in combat with strong damage or support abilities and are hard to replace. |
| A-Tier | Characters that are decent but can be replaced more easily as new units are introduced. |
| B-Tier | Characters that might drain your resources but can still be built if you like them. |

These are the characters you can build confidently:
| Name | Attribute | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Jiuyuan | Anima | Great sub-DPS who regenerates her energy over time and requires little on-field presence. Buffs the Blossom Esper Cycle, making her a good pair with Cosmos units. |
| Nanally | Anima | The first limited character, capable of dealing good damage with her steady barrage of attacks and follow-ups. |
| Daffodill | Chaos | Boosts break damage and reduces enemy break bar, making her perfect for boss fights. |
| Chiz | Cosmos | Fully unlocked free character, excellent at damage output and lowering enemy Cosmos resistance. |
| Adler | Incantation | A-class unit with great damage, shielding, and increased team Incantation damage when fully awakened. |
| Haniel | Psyche | Provides attack buffs to the team, making her an excellent support for attack-heavy units. |

These characters are useful but more replaceable:
| Name | Attribute | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Hathor | Lakshana | Early game powerhouse capable of defeating multiple enemies with her AoE, but can be replaced later as stronger options emerge. |
| Sakiri | Incantation | Great support at launch—groups enemies and boosts team attack—but her kit’s clarity is lacking, so future characters can take her place more easily. |
| Baicang | Incantation | Complex kit makes him self-sufficient and a solid buffer for Scorch, but limited synergy prevents him from ranking higher. |
| Fadia | Psyche | Deals damage mainly at low HP, which isn’t ideal in gacha games, but she works well paired with a healer. |
| Aurelia | Psyche | Versatile sub-DPS who can boost Psyche damage, especially at max level. |
| Skia | Lakshana | Similar to Aurelia, reduces Lakshana resistance and serves as a sub-DPS. |

These are less efficient choices or resource drains:
| Name | Attribute | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Mint | Anima | Focuses on damage as a main DPS, but her damage isn’t high enough without upgrades. |
| Edgar | Cosmos | Can heal the team but lacks outside support capabilities, making him easy to replace later. |
| Cosmos Esper Zero | Cosmos | Decent early-game kit that falls off in late game because other characters outperform its abilities. |
This ranking aims to help you focus on building characters that will serve you best in the long run. Remember, as the game develops, rankings may change, so stay updated with community feedback and new releases.
