Big Distraction, a new independent game studio founded by ex-developers from Fortnite, has unveiled its first project, Lort. This cooperative fantasy roguelike, designed for one to eight players, is anticipated to launch on PC later this year.
Established in 2023, Big Distraction is spearheaded by the former Lead Producer and Marketing Lead of Fortnite Battle Royale. The current roster comprises 11 skilled individuals hailing from renowned studios such as Dice, Blizzard, and MachineGames. The studio’s initial vision was to release a game within two years of its inception, and Lort is the fruition of that ambition.
Lort is an action-packed roguelike set within a whimsical fantasy realm. The recently released trailer showcases gameplay that revolves around players traversing procedurally generated maps in search of loot, amplifying their abilities, and challenging formidable bosses. Imagine a blend of Risk of Rain 2 infused with a hefty dose of whimsical humor.
