Khan Academy Pakistan has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Akhuwat, a prominent nonprofit education network in the country, to pilot Khanmigo, an AI-powered teaching assistant developed by Khan Academy, at Akhuwat’s educational institutions.
This agreement was formalized by Dr. Amjad Saqib, the founder and chairperson of Akhuwat, alongside Zeeshan Hasan, the CEO of Khan Academy Pakistan. This collaboration represents a significant step forward in integrating AI tools to enhance teaching effectiveness and learning outcomes in classrooms throughout Pakistan.
Zeeshan Hasan remarked, “Khanmigo is crafted to help educators provide personalized teaching. We are thrilled to partner with Akhuwat to investigate its potential impact on the educational landscape in Pakistan.”
As part of the pilot program, educators at Akhuwat schools will receive training on utilizing Khanmigo as an everyday teaching assistant, which is expected to simplify lesson planning and facilitate more impactful instruction. Khan Academy Pakistan will offer ongoing local support, training, and performance monitoring throughout the duration of the initiative.
Dr. Amjad Saqib expressed, “This partnership underscores our mutual dedication to educational innovation. By harnessing AI, we can provide teachers with state-of-the-art resources to enhance learning experiences.”
If the pilot proves to be successful, it could open the door for a broader implementation of Khanmigo across other educational networks in Pakistan, aligning with Khan Academy Pakistan’s goal of making high-quality education accessible to everyone.
