If you’re looking to keep your HP computer running smoothly, updating your drivers regularly is key. One way to do this is by using the HP Update Package. This package helps you update your drivers so your system stays up-to-date and runs efficiently.
When you download and install a software update through this package, a file is saved in your computer’s installation folder. Usually, you’ll find this file at a location like C:\SWSetup\SPxxxxx\hpup.exe. You can check the certificate of this file to make sure it’s genuine, confirming it’s from HP. The certificate details will show information like “CN=HP Inc.” and the location, such as “Palo Alto, California.”
If you no longer need the update files after installing the drivers, it’s okay to delete the folder. Just make sure you’ve completed the update process before removing those files to keep your system functioning properly. Deleting these files can free up space on your computer without affecting your driver updates.
