Another day brings a new game to the PlayStation Store. The latest addition is Kiln, a party game developed under the Xbox Game Studios umbrella.
What is Kiln?
Created by Double Fine Productions and published by Xbox Game Studios, Kiln is an online multiplayer party brawler where players shape their own pottery using a wheel and then bring their creations into battle to extinguish the rival team’s kiln. The way players craft their pots influences how they perform in gameplay. These pots are highly customizable, allowing players to design truly unique pieces compared to others.
Here’s a description and trailer to give a glimpse of what Kiln gameplay looks like:
“Double Fine Productions presents Kiln, a pottery power-fantasy celebrating both creativity and destruction: the joy of crafting beautiful objects and then smashing them to pieces. Design your pot, gather your friends, and join a team of vibrant spirits in online arenas, where the ceramic masterpieces you sculpt become the avatars you battle with.”
Currently, Kiln is available for PS5 on the PlayStation Store. The Standard Edition costs $19.99 and includes just the game. The Deluxe Edition, called the Fired Up Edition, is priced at $29.99 and contains several extra items. Here’s what’s included in the Fired Up Edition:
- Kiln base game
- Three new vibrant glazes
- Five Kintsugi-inspired stickers
- Five new warrior-themed attachments
- Golden Flail Medium Vase
- Golden Cannon Large Bottle
- Golden Brawler Small Vessel
Kiln was unexpectedly announced during the 2026 Xbox Developer Direct in January, alongside titles like Forza Horizon 6, Beast of Reincarnation, and Fable. In addition to Xbox, Kiln, Forza Horizon 6, and Beast of Reincarnation will also launch for PS5 later this year.
This release marks one of several Xbox Game Studios titles recently released on PlayStation, with the most recent being South of Midnight, an acclaimed action-adventure from Compulsion Games.
