Combat plays a crucial role in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, so becoming skilled in it is vital for a rewarding experience. However, just grasping the basics isn’t enough; you will also need quality gear to effectively engage in battle.
Going into battle without the right equipment can be incredibly risky. Even a single blow from an enemy’s weapon can be fatal if you aren’t properly protected. Therefore, it’s essential to have solid defense gear, such as shields and armor. Where to Find the Von Bergow Shield
After you complete the Fortuna quest, where you’ll have buried a few bodies, and then the main quest, Laboratores, you’ll gain the freedom to explore the game world. This is the perfect time to seek out the Von Bergow Knight Shield.
Since you’ve already dealt with burying bodies, the next step involves digging them up, which may seem a bit grim, but the rewards are worth it. Head to the southern part of the map, specifically to the Fresh Graves area, where you can uncover the grave with the coveted loot.
To dig up the grave, you’ll need a spade. You can find one at the Troskowitz Cemetery, located to the east of the map. Just be discreet if you decide to take it—make sure no one is watching.
From Troskowitz Village, head west along the road. Eventually, you will come to a fork; take the southern path. At the beginning of this route, you will notice a shrine. Once you pass that, go straight, take a left, and enter the trees. On the other side, there will be a large rock with a grave next to it. When you dig at this location, you’ll discover a deceased soldier along with the Von Bergow Knight Shield.

When you loot the body, you’ll come across several items, which include:
- Flanged Mace
- Crude Padded Coif
- Worn Gambeson
- Leather Gloves
Just remember, the gear you find may be a bit damaged. Be sure to repair it before putting it to use. With your new shield, boasting 263 defense and 25 durability, you’re now better equipped for the challenges that lie ahead in the game.
