Foundation is a game where you can create a village from the ground up, evolving it into a military stronghold, a thriving economy, or a spiritual sanctuary. Depending on the path you choose, obtaining essential resources will be crucial for your success, so knowing how to get them will be beneficial.
Wool is produced by sheep, which can be transformed into various valuable materials. Not only can wool help you earn significant gold, but it also meets the demands of your villagers.
How to Get Wool
To start collecting wool, you’ll need to raise sheep, which requires you to unlock the Sheep Farm. You can do this by reaching Level 10 in Progression and purchasing the Clothing option in the Progression Menu for 50 gold.
Once the clothing option is acquired, you can build the following:
- Sheep Farm
- Weaver Hut
- Tailor’s Workshop
Building a Sheep Farm is essential for producing wool. After constructing it, you can click on the Sheep Farm and use the Paint Pasture button to designate an area for grazing.
Ensure that the pasture area is appropriately sized based on how many farmers you have assigned to the Sheep Farm.
The game will notify you if the pasture area is too large or small, or if it meets the requirement.
After setting everything up, you’ll just need to wait for the wool to be produced. You can also allocate space in a warehouse for storing wool, but if you want to refine it further, you will need additional buildings.
How to Acquire Common Clothes
After establishing your Sheep Farm, you can proceed to build a Weaver Hut. The Weaver Hut will convert wool into cloth, which is necessary for creating common clothes. You’ll receive one piece of cloth for every three pieces of wool, which can also be stored in your warehouses.
If you prefer not to build a Sheep Farm and a Weaver Hut, you can purchase wool from the Resources menu after opening the trade route from Northbury.
Once you have enough cloth, it’s time to establish a Tailor’s Workshop. This workshop will convert one unit of cloth into two pieces of common clothes, which can be sold to villagers at a Goods Stall or traded with the Myddle Kingdom through Trade Routes.
Common clothes are essential for fulfilling the needs of your commoners, so you’ll need to sell them at a Goods Stall in your village.
