How to Unlock the Molting Season World Quest
No Prerequisites Needed—Jump in Anytime
Unlike certain other Genshin Impact World Quests, you can dive into “Molting Season” as soon as you access the Natlan region. To begin the quest, make your way to the camp situated to the southeast of the main village of the Flower-Feather Clan. Upon arrival, you’ll engage in a conversation with two aggressive Saurian traffickers squabbling over a man they have trapped in a cave nearby. This individual, Acomitl, is being coerced by the traffickers to sell them a baby Qucusaur.
After you defeat the Traffickers, you can speak to Acomitl through the bars of the cave. He will inform you that the nearby Qucusaurs are the only ones who know how to reach the cave, so you will need to interact with them for assistance. Find the Qucusaur named Spiritscone to Indwell, and then converse with the Qucusaur to progress in the quest.
How to Complete the Molting Season World Quest
Unlock the Cave Entrance and Prepare for a Warrior Challenge
The Melancholic Qucusaur will share the secret knock needed to open the cave door, while the Sleepy Qucusaur will reveal the entrance at the back of the cave. With the help of the Qucusaur, navigate the secret route to the cave and unlock it by choosing these dialogue options:

After you knock three times, the cave door will swing open, granting you access to Acomitl inside. He will introduce himself as a member of the Flying-Feather Clan Qucusaur Riders, lamenting that the demands of being an excellent flyer are overwhelming for him. He requests that you fly with him, just once, to convince the captain that he isn’t suited for flying, allowing him to pursue other interests. Once you agree, Acomitl will guide you to a high platform where you’ll need to complete a Warrior Challenge.
As with all Warrior Challenges, you have the opportunity to earn Obsidian Shards for completing this task, which makes your effort worthwhile. The more skillfully you navigate your flight, the greater your rewards will be.
