Pulling Hotori from the Scarborough Fair banners in Neverness to Everness takes some luck, especially since you’ll meet her long before she becomes a playable S-Rank character. But once you do, you’ll have the chance to enhance your team with her powerful Cosmos buffs, leading to impressive Ultimate attacks.
Hotori is the leader of the Eibon Antique Shop and appears frequently throughout the game. If you’re lucky enough to acquire her during the limited Scarborough Fair banner, it’s helpful to know the best strategies for her arcs, consoles, and team compositions in NTE.
Hotori Overview
Hotori uses a Solid arc type and mainly functions as a buffing support in her best team setups. She also has moments for Burst damage thanks to her combat skills. As she levels up her skills, she can significantly boost overall damage output. Her strongest damage comes from her Redirect and Ultimate skills, which allow her to stop time and keep damaging enemies, making her a versatile support character for your teams.
Hotori’s Esper Abilities
-
Basic Attack: Misty Moon Style
Hotori performs up to five quick attacks that deal Cosmos damage. She holds her Basic Attack to dash forward and attack in a small area, with damage increasing based on her fall height. When she switches into battle, a Non-Closed Timepiece appears and slowly accumulates energy up to 120 points.ADVERTISEMENT -
Skill: Present Replay
By spending 60 Non-Closed Timepiece energy, Hotori can record allies’ Support Skills and Redirect Skills for 5 seconds, up to three times per use. During this, the game rewinds her Timepiece pointer. It’s useful for reusing useful buffs and abilities for a short burst. -
Ultimate: World’s Tide
When her energy is full, Hotori can unleash her Ultimate, dealing a large amount of Cosmos damage in an area. During this, she draws a katana and enters a “Time Stop” mode, slowing time to near standstill. She cleanses time control debuffs, grants immunity to such effects, replays recorded attacks, and builds combo stacks with her katana. Reaching 10 stacks triggers a Finisher attack. -
Support Skill: Shopkeeper’s Authority
Hotori throws her umbrella, causing Cosmos damage within a small area.
Support Skill Enhancements
- Ghost Orchid Crest: Prevents Vita Bud attacks from pausing during Time Stop.
- All Treasures Under Heaven: Increases World’s Tide damage ratio by 100%.
Best Arcs and Consoles for Hotori
- Favorite Arc: Marching Beyond Time — Grants +16% Attack, and in Wastelab, it helps consume Wastetime stacks for higher crit damage during her Ultimate.
- Second Arc: The Forgotten — Boosts attack by 20% if above 50% HP, and increases defense by 20% if below 50%.
Top Console Choices:
- Lost Radiance cartridge
- 2-piece Epic Bonus: +10% Cosmos damage
- 4-piece Legendary Bonus: Ignores 25% enemy defense after her Ultimate for 20 seconds
- Best module pieces focus on Cosmos Damage, Crit Rate, and Crit Damage
Best Teams for Hotori
Most teams position Hotori as a buffing supporter, but she can dish out damage if built properly, especially if her Redirect and Ultimate skills are maxed out. Her team choice depends heavily on your playstyle and available characters.
-
Blossom Teams: Use Cosmos and Anima damage to apply Vita Pistils. Pair her with Esper Zero for consistent Cosmos damage, along with Nanally and Jiuyuan to maximize enemy breaking and follow-up damage.
-
Discord/Break Teams: Include Daffodil (a Chaos user), Sakiri for team-wide support, and Aurelia for strong attack support. These teams aim at breaking enemies quickly, allowing Hotori to deal massive Ultimate damage on broken foes.
-
F2P Friendly Team: If you’ve invested heavily in Hotori, you might use Esper Zero for Cosmos damage, Mint for follow-up Anima damage, and Aurelia for versatility, letting you handle various combat situations.
Best Awakenings for Hotori
Since Hotori is a limited S-Rank, her Resonance effects can take some time to unlock fully. Prioritize these awakenings:
- Flourish: Boosts damage during Time Stop by up to 36%, especially effective since her main damage source is her Ultimate.
- All-Seeing: Enhances performance against single enemies, which is great for boss fights.
- Distant Memories: Adds a flat Attack increase during Time Stop.
- Time Takes Away: Ignoring 30% of enemy defense during Time Stop enhances her attack further.
- Scattered Relics: Makes her charge her Ultimate and skills faster by defeating enemies—best against groups.
- Momentary Gaze: Helps recover energy spent on Present Replay but is less urgent early on.
Focusing on these awakenings can significantly improve her effectiveness as you gather more duplicates and resources.
Most of Hotori’s best uses center around her support capabilities, but with the right build, she can also deal meaningful damage, especially during her Ultimate. The choice of team really depends on which characters you have and your preferred style of play.
