The PS5 version of Starfield is experiencing significant issues, with reports of frequent crashes on both the standard PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles. These crashes are so persistent that many players find the game nearly unplayable, leading some to request refunds through the PS Store.
More PlayStation gamers are now demanding refunds as the ongoing crash problems continue to surface. PlayStation LifeStyle received a review copy of Starfield, and our reviewer, Tyler Treese, confirmed he did not encounter these crashes on the provided version (1.000.002). Other outlets have echoed similar observations. However, Digital Foundry has verified the crash issues on both the PS5 and PS5 Pro, though the exact cause of the problem remains unclear.
Over the weekend, a ResetEra user shared a screenshot showing their PS5’s error history, which appears quite severe. Many similar complaints and screenshots are circulating across Reddit threads and comments, highlighting the widespread nature of this issue.
Players are reaching out to Sony for refunds. While some have successfully received their money back without trouble, others have faced difficulties or are still waiting for a final response from Sony after escalating their complaints.
In the meantime, some players are searching for workarounds to bypass the crashes.
