Sony appears to have quietly phased out its least popular PS5 accessory, removing all references to it from the PS Direct online store. The PS5 HD camera, which allowed users to stream gameplay directly from the console without needing a PC or capture card, offered limited features and did not perform well.
For quite some time, the PS5 HD camera has been out of stock, indicating it was likely discontinued. While we noticed Sony rarely restocked this item due to low demand, they also stopped listing it on PS Direct altogether. According to a ResetEra user, the camera was still listed on PS Direct as recently as February 2026. However, those pages have since vanished across all regions. Although the product page on PlayStation’s official website still exists, clicking the “Buy Now” button redirects to PS Direct’s main landing page.
Given the absence of availability and the removal of store listings, it’s safe to assume that Sony has discontinued the accessory entirely. For those still eager to purchase the PS5 HD camera, it’s available on eBay at a high price point.
