Bad Blood Side Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
The "Bad Blood" quest begins in the Trosky region when you encounter Bozhena, the Herbalist, in her hut. Successfully completing this quest can reward you with Pavlena as a trader.
In this quest, you’ll take on the task of locating Pavlena and bringing her back to her mother, Bozhena. This guide offers an in-depth walkthrough to navigate the quest successfully.
How to Unlock the Bad Blood Quest
After your initial return to Troskowitz, make your way to Bozhena’s home located in the forest to the west of the main city, close to the alchemy bench. Bozhena will inform you that her daughter, Pavlena, is missing and will ask for your help in finding her. Agreeing to assist her will kick off the "Bad Blood" quest.
Investigate Pavlena’s Room (Optional)
Start by checking Pavlena’s room. Enter the house and head upstairs; on the right side of the bed, you’ll find a felt cap on the stool. Pick it up for additional clues.
Ask About Pavlena in Troskowitz
Return to Troskowitz and visit the tavern. Look for Bailiff Thrush and ask about Pavlena. He’ll mention that she might be with her boyfriend, Roman, and suggest you speak with the woodcutter, Dushko.
Talk to the Woodcutter
You can find Dushko next to the tavern near the drying rack or in the surrounding area. When you ask him about Pavlena, he may be reluctant to share details. Choose the response "It could be important" to encourage him to talk. He will reveal that Pavlena is pregnant, which is crucial information. Dushko will recommend checking Roman’s house for further clues.
Search Roman’s House and Return to Dushko
Roman’s house is located close to the drying rack. To enter, you’ll need some lockpicking skills. Once inside, inspect the area to gather more evidence, then head back to Dushko. He’ll inform you that he last saw Pavlena and Roman together in the forest.
Find the Clearing Dushko Mentioned
Head to the forest from the farm, following the creek until you come to two boulders. Go left and keep straight until you find a clearing in the woods. Here, you’ll discover a picnic blanket and pools of blood. Pay close attention; a rope and a torn piece of cloth might also be present. Follow the bloody trail leading to drag marks.
Tip: Pick up the cloth and use Mutt to help track Pavlena.
Confront Straw the Farmhand
After following the drag marks, you will arrive at Roman’s body. Speak to the pig herder nearby, then proceed southwest back to the town. Look for the farmhand, Straw, near the back of the farm. Plan to confront him during the day, as he appears only then. You have two options in this conversation: either intimidate him or calm him down. The latter option will make him share information without a fight.
Ask Straw about Pavlena, and he’ll reveal that his brother Ota has taken her to a gorge south of Zhelejov. You can choose to kill him, let him go, or arrest him at this point.
Find Pavlena
To continue with the quest, exit the town via the south route and navigate through the forest until you reach the mountains on your left. Climbing the rocks will lead you to a ladder. Beware of a dog near the ladder that will attack if not dealt with first.
At the top of the ladder, you’ll find Ota holding Pavlena captive.
Save Pavlena
As you approach Ota, you must negotiate to ensure Pavlena’s safety. Be aware that this encounter can go one of two ways: you might either save Pavlena or fail and lead to her demise. Utilize your speech skills to persuade Ota, particularly reminding him of Pavlena’s pregnancy to gain leverage.
Tip: You can pass checks by telling Ota to remove the knife from Pavlena’s throat or by mentioning her pregnancy.
If you succeed, Pavlena will take the opportunity to defend herself and kill Ota.
Return to Bozhena
After the encounter, discuss the events with Pavlena. You can either return to Bozhena with her or choose to go alone. Regardless, upon relaying the details to Bozhena, she will assign you a final task: to eliminate Jakesh.
Kill or Reconcile with Jakesh
After hearing Jakesh’s side of the story, you can opt to either reconcile or eliminate him. The easier route is to support Bozhena’s reconciliation efforts.
Note: Ignoring Bozhena’s plea may lead to tragic outcomes, including her suicide and Pavlena facing consequences.
If you decide to kill Jakesh, wait for nighttime and find him in his house. For the permanent solution, ensure you take him out while he’s asleep.
If you prefer to reconcile, head to the tavern during the day and discuss the issues with Jakesh, mentioning Pavlena’s pregnancy to bridge the gap and foster forgiveness.
Conclusion
Once you finish the reconciliation or eliminate Jakesh, return to Bozhena to wrap up the "Bad Blood" quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You’ll have options regarding the outcome for Jakesh, which will influence your rewards and story progression.
