Here, you’ll discover a picnic blanket and pools of blood. Pay close attention; a rope and a torn piece of cloth might also be present. Follow the bloody trail leading to drag marks.
Tip: Pick up the cloth and use Mutt to help track Pavlena.
Confront Straw the Farmhand
After following the drag marks, you will arrive at Roman’s body. Speak to the pig herder nearby, then proceed southwest back to the town. Look for the farmhand, Straw, near the back of the farm. Plan to confront him during the day, as he appears only then. You have two options in this conversation: either intimidate him or calm him down. The latter option will make him share information without a fight.

As you approach Ota, you must negotiate to ensure Pavlena’s safety. Be aware that this encounter can go one of two ways: you might either save Pavlena or fail and lead to her demise. Utilize your speech skills to persuade Ota, particularly reminding him of Pavlena’s pregnancy to gain leverage.
Tip: You can pass checks by telling Ota to remove the knife from Pavlena’s throat or by mentioning her pregnancy.
If you succeed, Pavlena will take the opportunity to defend herself and kill Ota.
Return to Bozhena
After the encounter, discuss the events with Pavlena. You can either return to Bozhena with her or choose to go alone. Regardless, upon relaying the details to Bozhena, she will assign you a final task: to eliminate Jakesh.
Kill or Reconcile with Jakesh
