Neverness to Everness offers a lot to see and do within the compact urban environment of City Typhoon. Players can easily lose themselves in the beautiful visuals and engaging characters. While these aspects are impressive, the combat system is actually more rewarding and intense, providing some of the most exciting fights in the genre.
The game’s fighting mechanics shine especially during the fight against the Film – MANISH boss. To succeed and rebuild the Film Orbit Studio by clearing the anomaly, you’ll need to use almost every combat tool available—Critical Dodges, Parries, Esper Cycles, and more. Although this isn’t the hardest fight in the game, it serves as the first real test of your skills, so take it seriously.

### Film – MANISH Overview
The Film – MANISH Anomaly acts as the first skill challenge in Neverness to Everness. It pushes you to utilize all parts of the combat system in a quick, chaotic battle. During this fight, your party will be fixed: Esper Zero will be paired with Sakiri, Nanally, and Adler, while you likely worked with Mint earlier.
This team setup is strong, especially since Sakiri and Nanally are top-tier S-Rank characters capable of contributing high damage. The boss has some tricky moves but can be countered with patience, awareness, and proper management of gauges.

### How to Defeat Film – MANISH
The fight features many attacks that keep you on your toes. Basic moves are best avoided with quick Critical Dodges, while more complex attacks require close attention. Your main priority is filling the Break Gauge to unleash a powerful group attack that deals significant damage. Be prepared for a lengthy fight, as the boss has high health and demands solid defense.
—
### Flash Film
When the encounter begins, Film – MANISH summons two film squares that emit bright flashes before firing spikes. Watch for the flash; once seen, dodge carefully to avoid the spikes and counterattack. Successfully doing this will damage its Break Gauge and open opportunities for damage.
—
### Plunging Attack
This attack involves the boss leaping into the air and crashing down onto your position. It’s telegraphed by two large red circles; when they appear, it’s time to Parry. Standing still when the circles meet will allow you to counter the attack, deal damage, and set up more strikes. Spamming attacks during recovery is ineffective; wait for the right moment to strike.
—
### Five Film Attack
Film – MANISH will summon five film squares behind it, then execute a quick attack signaled by a bright flash. When you see the flash, evade close to the boss for a Critical Dodge and follow with attacks. This will deal damage and lower its Break Gauge.
—
### Projectiles
The boss will summon small film squares that launch vending machines or vehicles at you. When one appears, prepare to evade. Timing your evasion perfectly will let you perform a Critical Dodge, getting you close enough to chip away at its Break Gauge.
—
### Spinning Attack
This move involves the boss spinning with red circles around it. Evade toward the boss when these circles appear, then perform Critical Dodges on the extended film strands. Once by its side, wait for the circles to turn yellow and attack to Parry—this will cause significant damage to its Break Gauge.
—
### Channeling Energy / AoE Attack
The boss flies into the air to gather energy, then unleashes a series of ground strikes. Each strike is marked by a large circle; dodge when you see these to avoid damage. Afterward, you’ll have a window to land attacks.
—
### Grid Slam
The boss paints a large grid on the ground before slamming into it, causing a big AoE attack. When the grid appears, escape immediately. Once it crashes down, dash back in to land attacks while it’s vulnerable.
—
### Breaking the Boss
Once you have reduced its health enough, you’ll be able to break Film – MANISH. This allows you to perform a powerful Ultimate attack for huge damage. Keep attacking with your best skills and ultimates for maximum effect.
—
### Film Bullet Hell
When the boss recovers, it will fill the sky with film lines and launch a barrage of vehicles. This phase is a bullet hell scenario where precise dodging is necessary. Evade just before the vehicles hit to land Critical Dodges—this avoids damage and powers up your gauges. After the barrage, the boss will be vulnerable again for a short time, so jump in for more hits.
—
### Sakiri Clones
The boss will summon two clones of your selected character (often Sakiri). Focus on defeating one clone at a time through stunlocking with basic attacks while critical dodging the other. Use skills and ultimates to speed up this phase. After one clone falls, the boss resumes its own attacks, so stay alert for trail marks on the ground indicating incoming damage.
—
### Second Broken State
Defeating both clones makes the boss break again. Use your Ultimate attacks and skills to maximize damage while it’s vulnerable. Keep up the pressure; this is your last big chance to finish it off.
—
### Massive Energy / Trains
The sky turns red as the boss ascends, gathering energy. It then opens portals summoning large trains that barrel toward you in waves. Evade to the sides or between trains during each wave. When the trains collide, move into the space between them to avoid damage. After this, the boss begins to recover, giving you a prime chance to attack.
—
### Teleport Projectiles
The boss teleports around rapidly, summoning film squares that launch vending machines or vehicles at you. Get ready to evade as soon as a projectile appears. Timing Critical Dodge right before impact will help you stay close, damaging the boss’ Break Gauge and setting up your next attacks.
—
### Final Assault
In the last phase, the boss hurls multiple vending machines in rapid succession, teleporting around the arena to launch attacks. Consistently evade with Critical Dodges to avoid damage, moving close enough to strike and build your gauges. Keep up the offensive until it’s finally defeated and the anomaly is cleared.
