There are many reasons you’ll need the different currencies found throughout Capcom’s 2026 sci-fi game, Pragmata. In this game, you play as Hugh, an astronaut stranded in space with only his suit, limited systems, and an AI named Diana who can perform impressive hacks.
Throughout your journey, you’ll collect four main types of currency, each used to buy or upgrade different items over time. Some are plentiful to find, while others require more effort and puzzle-solving to obtain. Here’s what you need to know about the four currencies in Pragmata.
This guide contains spoilers for Pragmata.
Make Upgrades to Your Gear, Shelter, and Skills
Soon after your space mission goes wrong and you meet Diana, you’ll start discovering various currencies in the game. You’ll earn these through activities like solving puzzles, defeating enemy bots, finding collectibles, and more.
However, keep track of these currencies carefully, as not all are the same, nor are they equally easy to find. Earning different types of currency is vital for upgrading Hugh’s suit and weapons, improving Diana’s hacking abilities, enhancing weapon blueprints, and unlocking useful info from Cabin when you visit the Shelter.
How to Use Each Currency in Pragmata
| Currency | What it is & how to get it | How to spend it |
|---|---|---|
| Lunafilament | The most common currency, seen as glowing blue shapes. You earn it by defeating enemies (bigger ones give more), opening treasure chests, solving puzzles, and exploring the map. | Use it at the Shelter’s Unit Printer to craft or upgrade weapons and blueprints. Upgrading gear helps you prepare for tougher areas. |
| Upgrade Materials | Orange-yellow cubes scattered around sectors. Finding these allows you to upgrade Hugh and Diana back at the Shelter. | Spend them at the Firmware Upgrade station to boost Hugh’s suit, his main gun, and Diana’s hacking talents. Upgrades become more costly as you progress, so collect plenty. They’re often in hidden or hard-to-reach spots, requiring puzzle-solving. |
| Cabin Coins | Earned by finding Cabin Figures or assembling REMs for decorative purposes. They enable you to interact with Cabin for rewards. | Use them to play Cabin Bingo, revealing new info about enemies, hints, and special features. You can also unlock new facilities or upgrade Cabin’s capabilities. |
| Pure Lunum | The rarest currency, found mainly in challenging parts like Red Zones. It’s used to upgrade abilities on Hugh’s suit and weapons. | Invest it at the Unit Printer for upgrades like unlocking exclusive hacking options or improving suit parts. You can see how many Pure Lunum you have on the sector’s overview screen. |
| Data Shards | Usually hidden in boxes across sectors, sometimes containing weapons or other currencies. | Use them to unlock new gear upgrades at the Shelter’s Unit Printer during your visits. |
Always check your Shelter’s machines to see what items or upgrades you can purchase. Accumulating enough currency can be crucial for your progress in the later sectors of Pragmata.
