In Windrose, it seems like palm seeds should be easy to find. You see palm trees everywhere, you have an axe in hand, and your instinct is to start farming. But then… nothing happens. No seeds drop, and you feel like you’re just chopping down trees aimlessly, questioning if you’re doing it right.
The good news is, you’re not cursed. There’s a logical way to find palm seeds. Once you understand what the game wants from you, collecting seeds becomes much clearer. This way, you won’t need to cut down as many trees and can make your efforts more effective.
How to Get Palm Seeds
To find palm seeds, focus on cutting down large palm trees that are further inland on the island. The smaller trees closer to the starting area won’t drop any seeds no matter how many you chop. So, the best strategy is to look for those bigger palm trees deeper inside the island.
Keep in mind, even when you target the right trees, seeds aren’t guaranteed to drop immediately. You might have to chop down several before you see one, so be prepared for some grinding.
Important: Before you go out, ensure you have the right tool. You’ll need an axe, which you can craft at a Workbench using stone and wood. Without an axe, you won’t be able to harvest the large trees that give you palm seeds, so this step is crucial.
How to Plant Palm Seeds
Once you have the seeds, planting them is simple. Open the Build menu by pressing B, go to the Farming tab, and place the seeds wherever you’d like the trees to grow.
