Windrose features several types of currencies that influence your progress and gear upgrades. Some are spent directly with merchants, while others serve as valuable loot to exchange for useful items later on.
During Early Access, each currency already has a purpose. Knowing how they work will help you save time and avoid unnecessary grinding. This guide explains each currency simply, so you know what to keep and what to spend.
Note: Windrose is in early access, and details may change over time.
How to Obtain and Use All Currencies
Piastres
Piastres are the main trade money in Windrose. You’ll mainly use them when trading with merchants, especially in Tortuga, a major trading hub. You earn Piastres through faction trading, completing quests, and selling loot and goods like contraband.
Building your faction reputation is the best way to secure a steady flow of Piastres, as it unlocks better trade options and more consistent income.
Guineas
Guineas are currency earned mostly from buried treasure and world quests. Like Piastres, you can spend Guineas at traders to acquire loot.
Silver Ingots
Silver Ingots are loot items, dropped from treasure chests, enemies, and dungeons. They are not used directly at shops. Instead, they are used to craft and upgrade jewelry that enhances your skills.
Hint: You can buy Silver Ingots from the Tortuga trader for 20 Piastres.
Gold Ingots
Gold Ingots are similar to Silver Ingots but generally hold higher value and are linked to further progression. They drop from treasure chests and enemy encounters, especially in tougher areas. They can also be purchased with Piastres from traders.
Like Silver Ingots, Gold Ingots aren’t spent directly but are used to craft and upgrade jewelry such as Amulets and Rings.
