While cleansing sanctums across Pywel in Crimson Desert, you’ll encounter several formidable boss enemies. If you’ve already defeated Antumbra’s Sword in the earlier parts of the Witches Faction Quests, you have some idea of what Antumbra’s Spear fight will be like.
These quests are key for unlocking powerful gear, such as Kuku Rishi’s boots, which increase your evasion. Defeating these bosses is worth the effort. Here’s what you need to know to beat Antumbra’s Spear and complete the quest during the cleansing of the Sanctum of Revelation.
How to Prepare for Antumbra’s Spear
To start the Antumbra’s Spear quest, find Antumbra’s Spear at the Sanctum of Revelation after beginning the Witch of Strength storyline. The Sanctum is situated on an island in the Demeniss region.
First, eliminate the Antumbra Zealots in the area to clear the way. This allows you to focus on the boss without distractions. Proceed to the central courtyard, marked by an orange circle on your minimap. After that, complete the Sanctum of Revelation puzzle to finish the cleansing.
Here’s a checklist to prepare for the challenging fight against Antumbra’s Spear:
-
Stock up on food—cook or buy as much as possible to increase your chances of survival if you make mistakes. Palmar Pills are helpful for reviving during the fight.
-
Wear the best armor and wield your strongest weapons—aim for at least Level 5 refinement. Armor sets like Frostcursed Plate or Armor of Shadows are good choices. The Darkbringer sword is ideal, but a bow with Infinite Arrows Abyss Gear is also effective.
-
Maximize your health, stamina, and spirit stats. Aim for around 8 points in health, 12 in stamina, and at least 6 in spirit.
-
Upgrade your skills to Level 3 in key areas, including Turning Slash (Stamina), Keen Senses (Spirit), Force Palm (Spirit), Focus (Spirit), Multishot (Stamina), and Focused Shot (Spirit). Prioritize these to improve your combat effectiveness.
How to Defeat Antumbra’s Spear
When the fight begins, you’ll notice many tactics similar to Antumbra’s Sword, but this boss is faster. It’s crucial to boost your maximum health to survive its swift attacks.
Pay attention to these common attack patterns:
-
Basic Spear Poke: The spear reaches out for a simple jab. It’s straightforward to dodge or parry, and counters create openings.
-
Clone Dash: The boss summons spectral clones that dash in a straight line with deadly attacks. Dodge or fly into the air to avoid these.
-
Lunge Stab: The spear lunges into the air with a red flash indicating high damage potential. Dodge; it cannot be parried.
-
Teleportation Stab: The boss teleports around the arena, reappearing multiple times before delivering a quick spear stab. Dodge to avoid this unpredictable attack.
During the fight, keep a safe distance to heal when needed, but also try to stay close to the boss to unleash heavy attacks that can stun it. Use Force Palm to build up the stun meter, then capitalize with high-damage moves such as Turning Slash or unleash a barrage of arrows if you have a bow.
Avoid getting locked into the boss’s dash attacks by aiming toward it when it strikes, using pillars or cover to dodge effectively. Continue the process—building stun with Force Palm, dealing damage, and dodging deadly attacks. With persistence and a few Palmar Pills, you’ll finally defeat Antumbra’s Spear.
Rewards for Defeating Antumbra’s Spear
Defeating the boss grants you an Abyss Artifact and marks a path into another nearby area through a small doorway near the boss’s courtyard. In the courtyard, you’ll find the Thorn of Dark Pursuits spear, which features stats such as:
- Attack: 22
- Refinement: 4
- Attack Speed Level: 2
- Bonus Attack: +1
- Bonus Attack Speed: +1
- Warden of Darkness: Executes a special finisher move upon defeating an enemy.
Once you secure the spear, you’ll receive the reward and progress further in your journey.
