You don’t have to handle everything alone in Conan Exiles Enhanced. Playing with friends or recruiting thralls can make managing your base much easier. There are different ways to get these thralls, but we’ll guide you through the basics to help you get started.
Thralls serve many purposes in your camp. Some act as guards, others can cook or do manual work while you’re away. They are helpful helpers you can use in various tasks. Just remember to feed them from time to time!
How to Get Thralls
Thralls are helpers you can control in Conan Exiles. They can defend your base or perform manual tasks. There are a couple of ways to acquire thralls, whether you want to lead kindly or dominate with force. Here are the main methods:
Build a Wheel of Pain at your base so you’re always ready to bring a new helper home.
How to Capture Enemies
Before capturing an NPC, craft a Truncheon from your inventory’s crafting menu. This blunt weapon knocks out NPCs so you can take them as thralls.
You’ll know you’ve knocked an NPC out when the blue bar above their health decreases.
Once they are unconscious, interact with them while holding bindings in your off hand. This will tie them to you with a rope, allowing you to drag them back to your base. Be careful—the rope can break during the journey!
Bring them to your Wheel of Pain to break their spirit and get them to work for you. It takes some time, and you need to feed them with gruel, made from plant fiber and seeds, to keep them going.
Free Prisoners From Camps
Sometimes, you’ll come across prisoners trapped in cages around the map. These prisoners are guarded by hostile NPCs. To free them, you need to fight the guards and take their keys. Opening the cage will cause the prisoner to pledge loyalty and follow you. The best part is, you don’t need a Wheel of Pain for them!
Purchase or Hire Thralls
You might find NPCs willing to sell thralls. Visit merchants, especially at Bucaneer Bay, where Zeina the Vixen and Weeba Shamrock sell different types of thralls, with prices varying based on their skills.
You can also build a tavern and place a barkeep inside. They will attract thralls to visit your base, and you can hire them temporarily or permanently. Why look for help elsewhere when it can come to you?
What to Do With Thralls
Thralls can make your life much easier. When you first meet one, you’ll notice they have a name indicating their skills, such as Archer III or High Priest, showing what they are best at.
If a thrall has a unique name, not just a role, it means they are a Tier 4 follower—the best quality you can get!
How to Use Followers
Fighter and archer thralls will follow you into battle and defend your base. You can interact with them to upgrade their gear, manage their response to danger, and position them around your camp.
You can also order them to retreat if things get too risky or if you want to go solo. Keep in mind, followers can fall in battle—they will wait for you to revive them. If you don’t revive them, they will eventually die.
How to Assign Thralls
Thralls can be assigned to different workstations to produce items or perform tasks for you. The higher their skill level, the better the results.
They level up as they work or fight alongside you. Remember, all thralls need food. Place a cauldron from the companions menu to feed them. While hunger won’t kill them, feeding them helps them heal faster and can grant strength buffs, depending on the food you give.
