One of the most highly anticipated games of the year for Xbox has been postponed. The game is also scheduled to release on PS5, and its launch date has now been pushed back.
Fable’s Much-Awaited Release Gets Delayed Once Again
Playground Games’ upcoming role-playing game, Fable, the first new entry in the franchise since 2012, has been delayed once more. Xbox recently announced on social media that the game has been pushed back to February 2027. Originally, it was expected to launch in fall 2026, although an exact release date was never officially provided.
In the announcement, Xbox explained that the delay was made “so it can have the dedicated moment it deserves.” The decision comes amid a busy holiday season, with other high-profile titles such as Gears of War: E-Day, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and Halo: Campaign Evolved set to release.
This isn’t the first time Fable has been delayed. The game was initially announced in 2020 and was scheduled for 2025. That timeline was later moved to 2026, and now it’s been pushed even further into 2027. The official Fable social media account acknowledged that the news might be disappointing but reassured fans they’ll get to play the game soon.
Additionally, Fable’s social channels confirmed that more gameplay clips and details will be revealed during Xbox’s showcase on June 7, 2026.
