While many of the secrets in Indiana Jones And The Great Circle are localized, the Serpent’s Chest questline will take you on a worldwide journey to revisit familiar areas. These keys are hidden in obscure locations, so it’s unlikely you’ll stumble upon them before you uncover the Serpent’s Chest at Voss’ camp in Sukhothai.
If you’re finding it difficult to locate all three keys, you’ve come to the right place.
How to Begin the Serpent’s Chest Mystery
The adventure starts at Voss’ camp in the Sukhothai region. First, fast travel to the Wat Chana Songkhram checkpoint, the closest spot to the camp. Crawl beneath the wall, veer left, and cross the bridge leading into Voss’ camp.
Pro Tip: You can find the Royal Army Uniform in Voss’ camp, making your navigation much simpler.
Once you reach the end of the bridge and step into the camp, turn right. Spot a green tent on the other side of a truck. The Serpent’s Chest is located inside this tent. Jump over the low wall at the edge of the chain-link fence to access the tent. Inside, you’ll see Voss’ Letter resting on the table next to the Serpent’s Chest.
Where to Find the Keys to Open the Serpent’s Chest
According to Voss’ Letter, the keys to the Serpent’s Chest are spread across various locations. You’ll need to return to Vatican City, Gizeh, and Shanghai to collect each key and then head back to Voss’ camp in Sukhothai to unlock the chest.
Vatican City Key
The Vatican City Key is found in the underground area beneath the Excavation Site. If it’s been a while since you explored this area, you may find navigating it quite challenging.
Start by fast traveling to the Excavation Site and head down into the pit. Use platforms to break your fall. When you reach the large open chamber at the bottom, turn around and slip into the small gap in the wall behind you.
Follow the twists of the passage, then leap into the hole to land in the water. Swim through the underwater door and keep going until you arrive at another spacious room. The passageway continues straight ahead and slightly left. Climb out of the water and squeeze through the gap in the wall to navigate into the maze.
Pro Tip: It’s easy to get lost down here. Keep an eye on the lit torches; they will guide you to a steep drop-off with boards forming a ramp. At the bottom, turn right and crawl through a small opening. Move forward until you encounter a railing with water below. Above you, you’ll see a broken bridge that you can swing across. Instead, jump into the water and swim toward the far wall.
Dive when you reach the far wall. You will discover a passageway in the center, leading to a large piece of wood obstructing your way. Interact with it to lift it, then emerge from the water. The Ancient Vatican Key will be on the ground at the top of the stairs.
Gizeh Key
Finding the Gizeh key is more straightforward than the Vatican City key. It is located at the Tomb of Khentkawes excavation site, where the central elevator is located.
Head to the center of this excavation area where the elevator is found.
Avoid taking the elevator; instead, enter the section where Nazis have been draining water. Follow the large water hose from the pump to help ensure you are on the right track. Turn right and head up the stairs, then into the spacious chamber where water is pooled. Proceed all the way to the opposite side of the room, being cautious of any patrolling enemies.
When you reach the far wall, jump into the water. There is an underwater passageway against the wall that you might have discovered during your earlier visit. Swim through and rise to the surface. Follow the light leading left, but instead, dive under again and check the right wall. There, a piece of wood blocks another passage. Interact with it to clear the path and find the Ancient Gizeh Key waiting for you.
Shanghai Key
Backtracking through Shanghai can be a bit tricky. Start at the spot where Indy and Gian found the plane. Navigate across rooftops, jumping gaps, and drop down into a building that is still ablaze.
Once in, stay to the right and jump over a significant hole in the floor. You might get stuck on some damaged wooden planks, but keep jumping until you manage to move past. Then shimmy across the narrow strip of the floor still attached to the wall ahead. Once you reach the other side, turn right, left, and exit the building.
When outside, jump over the rooftops until you encounter a fire, then turn right to find a narrow alleyway. Pass through the connected building and continue until you can safely descend to the ground. You should be near a canal and a fallen bridge above it.
Follow the canal to the right until you hit the wall, then jump in. Between the sidewalk and the wall lies a small gap that houses another underwater passage blocked by a wooden plank.
Clear the wood to continue swimming through and you will discover the Ancient Shanghai Key waiting beyond.
Conclude Your Quest
Now, journey back to Voss’ camp and open the Serpent’s Chest using all three keys. Inside, you will find a stunning Ancient Relic.
