One of the tricky challenges players face in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle occurs in the Game Room found inside a concealed pyramid in the Sukhothai region. This room is the first location you’ll encounter upon entering the pyramid, but it features an ambiguous puzzle that can complicate your progress without some assistance.
The presence of multiple doors activated by different pegs on the game board makes this a difficult puzzle to navigate without significant trial and error. While the end goal isn’t entirely clear— I certainly found myself grappling with understanding what the puzzle signifies in the broader story— the solution is straightforward once you grasp the mechanics.
How The Board Game Functions
Shift L-Shaped Pegs for Advancement
Referred to as the Nephilim Game in the Game Room, solving this board game demands a combination of patience and keen observation skills. After entering the hidden pyramid with Indiana and Gina, you’ll discover a unique board positioned at the center of the Game Room. It features a mix of L-shaped pieces and shorter, stubby ones. Additionally, two more pegs can be found tucked away in an alcove on the left side of the room. These two pegs can be rearranged on the board to unlock another panel on the right side, next to an inscription on the wall.
The peg layout includes six small pegs and four L-shaped pegs arranged in a format of 3-5-5-5-3. You’ll begin with three pegs— the two located in the alcove— to tackle the initial puzzle and will later receive three additional pegs. By shifting the smaller pegs into various holes on the board, the adjacent L-shaped pegs will rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise. The objective is to orient all the L-shaped pegs in specific directions corresponding to the segment of the puzzle you’re addressing.
Solving the Game Room Puzzle
Aligning Statues and Pegs
The Game Room puzzle consists of two parts, the first of which involves positioning all the L-shaped pegs to the right to earn more small pegs, followed by aligning all the L-shaped pegs toward the front to face the statue. When you enter the room, one small movable peg is already placed on the board. On the left, you’ll notice the two stones in the alcove essential for completing the first part of the puzzle.
As there’s already a peg in the board, you’ll need to remove it to reset the board for the initial challenge. Arrange the stones to create a diagonal line through the center of the board among the pegs, ensuring each moves appropriately. Once all the L-shaped pegs are directed to the right, a panel in the wall will open, revealing three additional pegs. After collecting these, remove all the pegs from the board to reset the puzzle.

Next, move to the final phase of the puzzle where all L-shaped pegs must be oriented toward the statue at the front of the room. This stage requires all six pegs to align in a zigzag pattern across the center of the game board. You’ll have two movable pegs in each center row, with two on either side of the front L-shaped peg, and two flanking the leftmost L-shaped peg in the center row, with two by the bottom peg.
Once all the pegs are pointed forward, the statue will shift aside, revealing a hidden message. Examine the message and capture a photo of it to successfully complete the Game Room puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
