There are many enemies and bosses you’ll face in Crimson Desert, especially during the Witches Faction Quest. Antumbra’s Staff is the third boss enemy in the Antumbra series, coming after you meet the Witch of Kindness.
If you’ve already defeated Antumbra’s Sword and managed to survive the rapid attacks of Antumbra’s Spear, you’ll be well-prepared for this next fight. We’ll tell you where to find the boss and how to defeat Antumbra’s Staff easily, especially if you use one of the strongest weapon setups in the game.
How to Find Antumbra’s Staff
You can go to the Sanctum of Solace anytime after you meet the Witch of Kindness. You first encounter Bari, the Witch of Kindness, in a tent east of Wayward Woods, shivering in the cold. After meeting Bari, she asks for your help to cleanse several sanctums in Pailune, including the Sanctum of Solace, which is just east of the letter “A” in “Pailune.”
At this location, you’ll find Antumbra’s Staff along with a group of zealots ready for battle. This is the spot where you challenge and fight the boss.
How to Defeat Antumbra’s Staff
Antumbra’s Staff is a very powerful and quick boss, so you need to be ready to dodge its attacks while dealing significant damage using the right gear and skills. Here’s a guide to preparing and fighting the boss effectively.
How to Prepare
You should focus on mastering certain skills before the fight:
- Evasive Roll (Spirit)
- Focus (Spirit)
- Force Palm (Spirit)
- Keen Senses (Spirit)
- Nature’s Snare (Spirit)
For bow builds, add:
- Evasive Shot (Stamina)
- Marksmanship (Stamina)
For melee-focused builds, consider:
- Armed Combat (Stamina)
- Forward Slash (Stamina)
- Turning Slash (Stamina)
Also, level up your attributes to these levels to survive and maximize damage:
- Health: Level 7 or higher
- Spirit: Level 6 or higher
- Stamina: Level 10 or higher
Gear and Power Setup
Once your skills and attributes are ready, you’re set to fight. Use the following tips:
- Equip a bow with Infinite Arrows and Explosive Arrows. Every hit will knock the boss back, and you can keep juggling it in the air with your Evasive Shot skill.
- Alternatively, if you prefer melee, focus on upholding your best gear and skills for close combat.
During the Fight
Watch for Antumbra’s attack patterns:
- Teleporting slash
- Shadow projectile attack
To succeed:
- Use the Focus skill to slow down the fight and react better.
- When anticipating a melee attack, dodge and counterattack with a few hits.
- When shadow projectiles are launched, use Nature’s Snare to absorb and reflect them.
- Use Force Palm to weaken the boss and build up the stagger meter.
- Aim to stagger the boss so you can perform a Turning Slash finisher when it’s vulnerable.
Repeat these tactics of countering, stunning, and attacking until you deal enough damage to defeat Antumbra’s Staff.
Rewards for Defeating Antumbra’s Staff
Once defeated, you’ll receive:
- Abyss Artifact
- Guidance of Dark Pursuit
After the boss is down, clear out the remaining zealots in the area to fully complete the area cleanup.
Cleansing the Sanctum of Solace
To fully cleanse the Sanctum, you need to gather materials for the final step. Head southwest of the large machine into a dark chamber with a water pool. Here, you will find two missing pieces needed to repair the sanctum’s machine.
First, grab the large column block floating in the corner. Then, locate the small square power core behind some bars, accessed through a crack in the wall. Use Axiom Force to store the pieces in your Kuku Pot, then use Force Palm to reconnect the broken column and insert the power core into its socket.
Once the sanctum is cleansed, Bari will arrive to thank you. However, there’s one more step: obtaining the Core of Solace.
How to Get the Core of Solace
The sanctum contains a secret puzzle. Approach the front panel with a circular pattern and small gems. Use the Blinding Flash skill to illuminate the panel, then focus the light on aligning the gems with 12 o’clock. Correctly timing your flashes will rotate the pattern, progressing the puzzle.
When all gems align properly, the Core of Solace will emerge from the top of the machine. Use Axiom Force to grab it and store it in your Kuku Pot for safekeeping.
