As you journey through Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, you’ll traverse the extensive landscapes of the Horns of the South and Cuanacht early in your quest. These regions are packed with expansive dungeons and numerous side quests to engage you.
Some dungeons, however, are mandatory for gathering fragments of King Arthur’s soul. Exploring the Abyss of Sagremor will reveal some harsh realities about the world and the impact of power on those who fear losing it. We’ll guide you in locating and assisting Claire, the queen’s sister, bringing you closer to the truth.
Where to Find Claire
After you acquire the key to Claire’s chambers, ascend the stairs on the left side of the hallway. Once you reach the banquet hall, defeat the spirits of the nobility and servants before heading through the door on the opposite side of the tables.
Use the key to open the door, and you’ll discover a massive book awaiting your attention. Check the chests here for some useful ingredients before interacting with the book, which will transport you to the keep where Claire is secluded.
Take the elevator to her quarters, where you’ll find her busy writing letters at her desk. Engaging her in conversation can be challenging, but you can aid her in a different way.
How to Help Claire
To assist Claire, approach the stack of books and letters by her door. Interact with them to enter her imaginative world, hidden within the pages of her letters and love stories.
Once you’re inside, your task is to help her confront each version of her lover, Bors. He’s trapped her mind within the letters, preventing her from focusing on anything beyond her obsession with him.
You’ll face three distinct versions of him, each with a different backdrop.
Ardent Lover Boss Fight
Your first encounter is with the Ardent Lover in the fields. Interact with the dark book to be transported to the farm with Bors. This version isn’t very strong, resembling a simple farmhand, but you should remain alert.
Use the terrain to your advantage by dodge his attacks while hitting him from behind. Once you’ve defeated him, proceed to seek out the next version of Bors.
Valiant Knight Boss Fight
Continue along the path away from the farm to discover another dark book. Engage with it to face the valiant knight version of Bors, who is well-armored and wielding a two-handed claymore.
Although his movements are slower in this form, his hits land much harder. Be sure to time your dodges carefully and use ranged attacks to disrupt him. Once he falls, feel free to collect his weapon and move on.
The weapon is a standard two-handed sword without any enchantments, but its name makes it unique.
Minstrel of Dreams Boss Fight
Lastly, travel to the overlook to find the final dark book. This time, you’ll confront the Minstrel of Dreams. Though he wears less armor, he employs the Burning Ember spell to attack.
While the spell isn’t exceptionally powerful, the dim lighting in the dream can make it difficult to see unless you’re alert. You risk getting burned unexpectedly, so keep a close eye on Bors’ movements and time your strikes effectively to interrupt his fire spells.
Once you defeat him, backtrack down the path to find a new dark book that has appeared. This will bring you back to Claire’s quarters, where you can finally engage her in conversation. She’ll be more like herself than before, although she still fixates on Bors. However, she now understands that she merely sought someone to love her as the king loved the queen.
The quest concludes here, and you can retrace your steps out of the tower, returning to the Abyss of King Sagremor and the castle within.
