In Honkai Star Rail, events are special, limited-time activities where you can earn great rewards. These rewards can include ascension materials, materials for leveling up Traces, and the highly sought-after Stellar Jades.
One notable event to participate in is called “Between the Frames,” launched in version 2.7. If you’re eager to jump into the event and quickly gather your rewards, this guide will provide you with detailed steps to make it happen.
How to Join the Between the Frames Event
The “Between the Frames” event starts on December 25, 2024, and wraps up on January 6, 2024. To join in, you need to be at least Trailblaze Level 21.
The game suggests that players finish the Trailblaze quests A Fugue from Beyond, along with Battles and Without Ninja and Humanity before diving into the event.
Additionally, it’s a good idea to complete the Scorchsand Vacation Adventure Mission as well.
These quests unlock specific locations relevant to the event. However, it’s also possible to skip these quests and gain temporary access to those areas just for the event’s duration.
Guide to the Between the Frames Event
The event lasts over seven days, culminating in a closing ceremony where participants take photos. There isn’t much complexity to this event; it mainly consists of following quest markers and completing designated tasks.
Your first task is to find March 7th at Penacony Paperfold University College. After speaking with her, a quest marker will lead you to take her photo.
Next, you’ll encounter Mr. Reca, who will explain the event to you. The basic concept is to find inspiration based on the day’s requirements, visit the inspiration site, and snap a picture.
Don’t worry about finding the photo locations; they are all identified by a blue quest marker, similar to Adventure Missions. Just follow the markers to reach them.
After you’ve captured the inspiration, you’ll need to take another photo that fits the day’s theme. Make sure to visit the indicated location and capture a photo that aligns with the theme. Completing both tasks will earn you rewards instantly.
You also don’t have to manually select the camera from the menu; once you arrive at the location, the camera icon will light up at the bottom of your screen. Just press the button and take the picture shown by the quest marker.
At the time of this writing, Days 5, 6, and 7 are not yet accessible but will be released in the days to come.
Day 1
For the first day, your initial target is found at Paperfold University. Follow the quest marker to a Soulglad Fountain and take the required picture to proceed. After completing this step, you’ll need to photograph a Slumbernana Monkey next.
Head to the Dewlight Pavilion where a large table is located. Initially, the Monkey will refuse to interact with you, so use the teleporter. You’ll get transported to the map on the table, and a fresh quest marker will appear. Follow it to snap a picture of the Monkey and complete the quest.
Day 2
On Day 2, travel to Penacony Golden Hour. First, follow the quest marker until you reach a set of Billboards. Capture their images to finish the first step of the task.
Then, follow the new quest marker to encounter a Car next to three Trash Cans. Take the photo of the Car to complete this segment of the quest.
Day 3
Your first task for Day 3 is to visit the Soulglad Scorchsand Audition Venue. Follow the quest marker until you arrive at a Clockie Stand. Snap a photo of the Clockie to finish the first task.
Once that’s done, continue following the new quest marker to reach a stage with the Dreamjolt Hostelry. Photograph this as well to complete Day 3’s requirements.
Day 4
On Day 4, head over to the Penacony Grand Theater. Start by following the quest marker to a Statue with an Origami Bird on top. Take a photo to finish the first day’s task.
Afterward, you’ll interact with Dr. Ratio at the same spot, who will present some plaster statues for you to photograph alongside him. Completing this task will finish your duties for Day 4.
