If you’ve been playing Neverness To Everness for a while, you’ve probably already completed some anomaly commissions. Some are part of the main storyline, while others can be found randomly on the map. However, not many commissions are as challenging as the Lonely Player.
This commission has a difficulty rating of four stars, and it’s not a world boss. Its difficulty is justified because it involves solving several puzzles and doing a lot of preparation beforehand. Here’s what you need to know and how to approach it.
Preparation for Lonely Player
Before trying the Lonely Player commission in NTE, you need to prepare by collecting three gadgets from random students in the school. Two of these gadgets are necessary for the quest, and one is optional, depending on your strategy.
You should enter the school in the morning to collect these gadgets because students are not around at night. If you’re having trouble entering the school, try moving away from the main entrance and jumping across.
How to Get Empathy Eye Drops
Start by going to the school’s racing course, located on the upper right side of the map. Near the gym (the basketball stadium), you’ll find a girl standing beside it. Talk to her, and she’ll ask you to use the Empathy Eye Drops three times during the conversation to find her diary.
After completing this dialogue, follow the path to the right of the girl, where you’ll see a tree in the middle of the school buildings. Get to the tree, and you’ll find her diary, which you can return to her in exchange for the Eye Drops.
How to Get Cheese
Cheese is a camera anomaly that creates a freezing effect in a specific area when you press its shutter. To acquire it, speak to a student from the Occult Club who has a floating camera. You can find this student in the rectangular building on the left side of the school area.
After talking to him, he will move to different locations around the campus. You need to find him three times and answer a question correctly at each spot. The locations and correct answers are:

After completing these steps, the member will give you Cheese.
How to Get Peepy’s Sunglasses
This is an optional gadget that helps with wandering puppets. To obtain it, meet Peepy at multiple locations around campus, as it only appears inside walls. The locations, with detailed directions, are as follows:

This will reward you with Peepy’s glasses and also help you nullify wandering puppets.
How to Find and Invite All Puppets
Once you’re ready, set the game time between 20:00 and 6:00 to start finding puppets. Several locations are marked on the map, and each one involves specific steps:
Puppet Location One: Basketball Court
Enter the school, and in the basketball court—where you found the Occult Club member—you’ll see a puppet that triggers special floating effects. Approach and interact when you’re not levitating to invite it. The puppet moves in a cycle between three spots, so wait for it to come to one of those spots to get it easily.
Note: Ignore other puppets that appear idle. They do not have interactions.
Puppet Location Two: Race Track Stands
This puppet will challenge you to a race on the tracks. It sits at the start line, and when you approach, it offers a race. Keep your eyes on it the entire race, since it immediately reaches the finish line once you turn your back. Other puppets may also race and reach the finish faster. Use a strategy of staying near the puppet and moving carefully along the track, avoiding lines of puppets blocking the way near the end, to win.
Winning the race allows you to invite this puppet as well.
Puppet Location Three: Gym Entrance
At the gym’s entrance—just above the race tracks—you’ll see a puppet that is invisible unless you use Empathy Eye Drops. Start by melee attacking to clear the initial obstacle, then use the drops to see the puppet’s point of view and locate it. It appears in various spots:
- Near the closest basketball on the left side of the right net.
- Staring at the gym’s left exit.
- On the upper level after climbing a ladder on the right side.
- On stage area.
Sometimes, the puppet may glitch or not appear due to bugs. If that happens, try melee attacking the surrounding walls or log out and back in.
Puppet Location Four: Near the Student Diary Tree
The puppet here will vanish but leave footsteps that you can hear. Track its footsteps, which emit an invite icon when close, and approach carefully to invite it.
Puppet Location Five: Wall with Juggling Puppet
Head to the left from the previous puppet’s location to find three puppets looking upward. Enter the building they look into and climb two floors to locate the same classroom as Peepy’s last appearance. Inside, a puppet juggles a ball under three cups. Use your memory or Peepy’s hints to guess the ball’s position—middle, right, middle. After three correct guesses, invite the puppet.
Puppet Location Six: Wind Anomaly Puppet
Stand near the previously found Eye Drop girl, face the tree, then enter a building with wooden stairs leading to the roof. As you approach, stop about a classroom’s distance away. Use the Cheese gadget to spawn a puppet on the ground, then invite it.
Puppet Location Seven: Piano Classroom
In the same building as the previous puppet, go to the second floor and enter the classroom with the piano. Walk around the pillar clockwise to trigger the puppet’s spawning. It plays melodies, and you must press piano keys in the correct order to invite it. The notes are somewhat randomized, so you’ll need multiple attempts.
Puppet Location Eight: Hidden Locker Puppet
Head to the area with the stairs from Puppet Seven’s location, and find a hidden puppet inside a locker in a different classroom. Use the clues provided to locate and interact with it.
Puppet Location Nine: Storage Room Puppet
Finally, navigate through classrooms off the main hall, find a series of small puppets sitting in different rooms, and reach a storage room to find the last puppet. Approach and invite it to complete the collection.
Final Step: Ending the Commission
After gathering all puppets, go to the building with a puppet welcoming on stage, located in the top left of the school grounds. Talk to the puppet there to nullify the anomaly and claim your rewards.
