Any good gacha game needs a strong lineup of characters from the standard banner, regardless of what other banners are running. In Neverness to Everness, having Daffodil on this banner was a smart move because she’s a key teammate to have.
If you’re trying to inflict the Scorch reaction, Daffodil is especially valuable. As the only character at launch able to use the Chaos element in battle, she’s highly sought after from the Scarborough Fair event. If you’ve pulled Daffodil in NTE, here’s how you should build her.
Daffodil Overview
If you pulled the S-Tier Daffodil from the Strange Encounters banner, you’re getting a powerful Breaking teammate.
As the only Chaos character available when the game launched, Daffodil’s appeal grew quickly after NTE was released. She can trigger unique elemental reactions with her Chaos powers, with many of these reactions offering her a boost when she does so with her best arcs equipped. Her liquid arc skills excel at breaking enemy defenses like shields, making her a strong choice for breaking down tough enemy defenses quickly, helping your team hit harder and faster.
Teams that rely on elemental reactions rather than raw strength will find her very useful. If you’re facing a well-defended enemy squad, adding Daffodil to the front line of your team is a good strategy.
“A ruthless bodyguard of few words, working exclusively for Eibon.”
Daffodil’s Skills and Abilities
Basic Attack: Still Waters
Daffodil wields twin blades, performing up to five hits that deal Chaos Damage.
- Light Prism: Increases her Break damage contribution by 20%.
- Mirror on Water: Hold the attack button during Still Waters to dash forward and slash, leaving marks and dealing Chaos damage.
- Displaced Edge: Dodge during Still Waters to become invincible temporarily, without interrupting her attack combo.
- Crosshair Lock: While mid-air, she plunges her weapon into the ground, dealing Chaos AoE damage with damage scaling based on fall height (up to +100%).
Skill: Resonance
Daffodil projects damage onto her target and gains Resonance stacks. These stacks boost her damage and Break when teammates use support skills, up to two stacks. When at max stacks, Resonance is replaced by Echoes, which she can trigger with her Redirect Skill: Echoes—swiftly swinging her blade with a rope to deal Chaos damage.
Ultimate: Finale
Daffodil unleashes Chaos damage in an AoE, unsealing her left eye, which boosts her damage and inflicts Insight on nearby enemies. She also gains Phantom Step charges, up to two, which she can use for quick escapes or repositioning. Using Finale resets her Phantom Step charges.
Support Skill: Crossed Blades
Daffodil slashes her target with her blade, dealing Chaos damage.
- Support Skill Enhancements include:
- Blade Draw: Discord Enhancement—Reduces enemy Break cap by 10% for 30 seconds while affected by Discord; stacks up to 30%.
- Cicada Shell—Boosts Phantom Step damage by 80%.

Best Teams for Daffodil
While Daffodil performs well with many team setups, her most effective pairing is with Baicang, another S-tier character. Together, they can trigger the powerful Scorch reaction by combining Chaos and Incantation damage—one of the game’s strongest elemental reactions. Keep these two paired whenever possible since they synergize perfectly and cycle through their skills effectively.
“Even if you’re sticking to free characters, consider choosing Baicang from the S-Tier list. His synergy with Daffodil is almost seamless, making them a formidable duo. If you don’t pull one naturally, select the other to maximize your team’s potential.”
Supporting her team with characters like Adler is also recommended because he can provide shields, support, and damage over time, helping trigger Scorch reactions. For a balanced team, options include Jiuyuan for Hexed effects, or Sakiri to trigger Discord reactions.
For free-to-play setups, Adler remains a solid choice. Haniel is also good, triggering the Stained reaction as a Psyche-type character. Aurelia can contribute to elemental damage and reactions to round out your team.
Best Awakenings for Daffodil
Building Daffodil in NTE requires some focus. As an S-tier character, her best awakenings include:
- Assembly of Creation: Prevents enemies from removing Insight, which she often applies to enemies.
- Eye: Enhances Resonance damage and Break potential, especially useful since she frequently uses support skills.
- Perfect Truth: Grants additional Insight when she causes enemies to enter Break—great for her role as a sub-DPS focusing on Breaks.
- Mechanical March: Allows more opportunities to use Phantom Step.
- In Concealment: Boosts her Break damage further, especially effective once her Insight stacks grow.
- Bloom in the Lake: Ignores 15% of enemy defense, making her damage more consistent.
Final notes on leveling her up
Given her status, prioritize awakening effects that increase Insight damage and Break potential, such as Assembly of Creation and Perfect Truth. Enhancing her Phantom Step damage and her ability to ignore enemy defenses also makes her more lethal.
