If you want to pass the time on the waters around Hethereau in Neverness to Everness, try out the fishing mini-game available at many marked fishing spots on your map in the lively city.
Each fishing spot in NTE offers different types of fish to catch. As you succeed in catching fish, your fishing skill will improve, and you’ll earn rewards along the way. Make sure you’re equipped with the best rods and bait before casting your line confidently into any fishing spot you choose.
How To Fish
Before you can start fishing in NTE, you need to reach City Tycoon level three to unlock the mini-game. Fishing is a great hobby you can enjoy between main missions, especially if you need to earn some extra Fons for the week.
Once unlocked, you can find fishing spots on your map marked with a small white fishing line icon along the water or by going into the Hethereau Hobbies menu on your phone and selecting the Fishing option.
When you arrive at a fishing spot, you’ll see a mini-game similar to those in adventure games: your goal is to select the right rod and bait to catch the best fish, then reel it in by keeping your rod balanced. Upgrading your rods allows for more weight and better line durability, while better bait helps you catch rarer fish at each spot.
To fish, approach a water spot and interact with it to cast your line. Wait for a bite, indicated by a green meter at the top of the screen that moves rapidly as the fish tries to escape.
You need to keep your line within the green meter’s range until the fish is caught. Catching fish involves depleting their stamina by keeping the green meter and the stamina bar overlapping—the longer your lines overlap, the more stamina the fish loses. When its stamina hits zero, you’ll reel it in.
Note: If your line isn’t properly aligned with the green bar, it can break, causing the fish to escape. Fish stamina decreases over time if your lines stay overlapped, so patience is key.
Fish come in different rarities, which affect their sale price: Common in green, Uncommon in blue, Rare in pink, and the rarest, Legendary, in gold. You’ll need to gain experience with lower-level rods to catch rarer fish, which can then be sold for Scale Points. These points are used to buy better bait and rods at the Fishing Tackle Shop. Keep in mind that selling fish costs City Stamina, so choose your trades wisely if you’re close to your weekly limit.
The Fish Market
Check the Fish Market regularly for in-demand fish, which change daily. Selling these high-demand fish can earn you more Fons and Scale Points. However, there’s a cap: you can only sell two or three of each type of in-demand fish per day to prevent earning too many rewards too quickly, especially since weekly limits apply to all activities.

On each trip, review the daily fish market to see which fish fetch the highest prices. Going directly to the best spots for these fish, listed in the menu, is a smart move to maximize your earnings.
