DIGITAL PHABLET – Rapper d4vd arrested for murder.
American rapper David Anthony Burke, known by his stage name d4vd, has been taken into custody on suspicion of killing a 14-year-old girl whose dismembered body was discovered in a vehicle registered to him.
The city’s police department stated in a release that the 21-year-old artist d4vd was detained on Thursday “for the murder of Celeste Rivas.” He is currently held without the possibility of bail.
Seven months prior to his arrest, authorities recovered Rivas’s severely decomposed body from the trunk of a Tesla that was confiscated and registered in his name.
A court document reports that investigators found two black bags in the vehicle. One contained a severed head and torso, while the other held additional body parts. An autopsy revealed that Rivas “had likely been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period before discovery.” Rivas would have turned 15 on the day her remains were found.
Law enforcement officials indicate that on Monday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will review the case against D4vd to determine if formal charges should be filed.
In a statement, D4vd’s legal team expressed their intention to “vigorously defend” his “innocence.”
Attorneys Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter stated that the evidence in this case should ultimately reveal that someone other than David Burke was responsible for Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s death. NBC News quoted their statement.

Born as David Anthony Burke in Queens, New York, he gained widespread fame in 2022 with his TikTok hit “Romantic Homicide,” which went viral worldwide.
Amidst mounting controversy over Rivas’s tragic death, the artist was forced to cancel the remaining dates of his tours across the United States and Europe last year.
