In Chapter Three of Replaced, you enter a termite nest to find a battery that could help upgrade your weapon. The battery is guarded by a tough enemy known as Uncle Ben.
Unlike Spider-Man’s uncle, this Uncle Ben is hostile and dangerous. Expect a challenging fight. To help you succeed, here’s a detailed guide on his moves and how to effectively counter them.
Uncle Ben’s Moves and How to Dodge Them
Claw Attack
His basic attack involves swinging his claw at you. Sometimes it’s a red indicator, meaning you must dodge to avoid it; other times, it’s yellow, allowing you to counter with multiple hits if timed correctly. In the second phase, he swings twice in quick succession.
- Tip: Dodge when the attack is red. Counter when yellow, but do so quickly with multiple hits. Keep your distance when he prepares his double swing.
Spin Attack
He spins while attacking, which looks similar to the claw swing but adds a continuous spin afterward. This move is easy to get caught by, so staying far away is wise. If you’re near him, dodge away as he starts his spin.
- Tip: Maintain distance during his attack telegraph. If you’re close, dodge away to avoid the spin.
Crossbow Attack
He pulls out a crossbow and aims at you. The aiming line starts white and turns red when he fires. To dodge, either move past him quickly or dodge just as he fires to roll under the shot. If your gun is charged, firing at him cancels out his attack instantly.
- Tip: Watch the aiming line closely. Dodge at the right moment or shoot him before he fires if your weapon is ready.
Charge Attack
Uncle Ben sometimes charges directly at you. During this, the only way to avoid damage is to dodge out of the way. In the second phase, he charges twice in a row, requiring two quick dodges.
- Tip: Always stay alert for a charge. Dodge twice in phase two to evade both rushes.
Mine Attack
While on his throne, he launches three mines. These can hit directly or land on the ground, creating a large red circle you must avoid. The best strategy is to hide behind cover like broken pillars, forcing him to waste his mines destroying them.
- Tip: Use the environment to your advantage. Stay behind cover to prevent hitting by the mines.
General Fight Strategy
You need to beat Uncle Ben twice since he revives after losing all his health. Luckily, your healing items are partial reset before the second fight, so save your med-stims for later. Focus on staying defensive—he causes serious damage with many attacks. Avoid rushing in, as taking too many hits will likely lead to your defeat.
Wait for opportunities to attack right after he finishes an attack. Strike a few times, then back off to avoid his counterattacks. Use your gun whenever possible to deal quick damage.
A useful tip during his Claw Attack: Dodge behind him and shoot. In phase two, dodge behind, then carefully dodge back after his second swing before hitting him multiple times. Patience and careful timing are your best tools here.
