If your HP Deskjet 2810e printer is showing flashing lights and behaves like this, you’re not alone. Many users face similar issues where the power button flashes for about 10-15 seconds, followed by all other lights and icons on the LCD display flashing as well. The good news is there are steps you can take to try and fix this problem.
First, try to power cycle your printer. Turn it off completely, unplug the power cable, wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. Sometimes, this simple reset can clear the error.
Next, check for paper jams. Even if you haven’t experienced jams before, it’s worth opening all paper trays and the cartridge area to look carefully. Remove any bits of torn paper or obstructions. Even small pieces stuck somewhere can cause errors.
Then, remove the ink cartridges and clean the contacts gently with a soft, lint-free cloth. Make sure you’re using genuine HP cartridges, as third-party ones can sometimes cause issues. After cleaning, reinsert the cartridges securely.
Another step is to perform a hard reset. To do this, turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, and leave it unplugged for about five minutes. Then, reconnect everything and turn it back on. This can sometimes clear the error and reset the internal status.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be related to firmware or internal hardware problems. Unfortunately, since your printer isn’t showing up in HP Smart app when connected via Wi-Fi or USB, updating the firmware isn’t an option at this point. You might consider connecting the printer to a different computer or network to check for firmware updates or contacting HP support for professional assistance.
Remember, since your printer is only six months old and used just a few times, it might still be under warranty. Don’t hesitate to reach out to HP customer service for further help or possible repairs. They can provide more specific guidance based on your situation.
