Samsung is preparing to unveil its most ambitious smartphone in years, reviving the beloved “Edge” name. The Galaxy S25 Edge, an ultra-sleek device first revealed earlier this year, is set for its major launch on May 13.
The online event will commence at 5:00 PM (PT) and 8:00 PM (ET), replacing the traditional multiple regional launch events. You can watch the livestream on Samsung’s official YouTube channel, and a concurrent stream will be available on the company’s Newsroom page.
What to Expect from the Galaxy S25 Edge?
The standout feature of the Galaxy S25 Edge is its exceptionally thin design, reportedly measuring just 5.8mm, making it the thinnest smartphone available worldwide. Early teasers and leaks suggest that the build quality is impressively premium.
Samsung has stated that the Galaxy S25 Edge will feature an advanced glass shield known as Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, which enhances both drop and scratch resistance on the screen. The rear will also be reinforced with strengthened glass, complemented by a metal frame.
Samsung describes the Galaxy S series addition as both a powerful AI companion and a technological marvel, merging top-tier performance with ultimate portability. As expected from a Galaxy S device, the camera system will be a key highlight.
What’s Inside the Slim Chassis?
Recently, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S25 Edge will feature a 200-megapixel main camera, matching the advanced capabilities of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The front will house a 12-megapixel camera designed for selfies and video calls.
According to leaks, the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with 12GB of RAM. It will be available in storage options of 256GB and 512GB, with a modest 3,900 mAh battery to keep it running.
The design is expected to carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, with color choices including silver and black. The front showcases a 6.7-inch AMOLED display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, running on One UI 7 based on Android 15.
A leak from WinFuture suggests the starting price will be EUR 1,249, translating to a rough estimate of around $1,000, subject to regional and historical adjustments. Interestingly, there are rumors that this phone may be limited to select international markets.
