In September 2024, Beats made headlines by announcing its development of the highly awaited second-generation Powerbeats Pro wireless earbuds, with a release expected in 2025. Thanks to some recent leaked images, it appears our anticipation may soon come to an end.
A notable leaker on X, known as Arsène Lupin (@MysteryLupin), has shared several high-resolution images showcasing the Powerbeats Pro 2, providing our first clear glimpse of the new earbuds. Prior to this, the only visual evidence was a low-quality video featuring baseball star Shohei Ohtani.

The leaked images reveal intricate details of the Powerbeats Pro 2, including the range of colors available and a closer look at the redesigned charging case, which seems to be smaller and more travel-friendly compared to its predecessor.
The sleek design features a more streamlined profile for the earbud housings and eliminates the physical “b” buttons. However, the signature Beats “b” logo remains, possibly indicating that the entire area serves as a touch control surface, along with the retained top-mounted buttons from the original model.

One particularly compelling detail is visible in an image showing the earbuds alongside an Android phone. The display features the Beats app, which includes a greyed-out heart rate button, suggesting that the Powerbeats Pro 2 will offer functionalities beyond merely delivering music during workouts—they might also provide fitness feedback.
Notably, there’s a three-position slider, currently turned “off.” Some analysts speculate that this controls spatial audio settings, but the accompanying icons—depicting heads with and without halos—align more closely with how Beats represents noise cancellation modes in models like the Beats Studio Buds+ and Beats Fit Pro.

If these interpretations are correct, this will mark the first confirmation that the Powerbeats Pro 2 includes active noise cancellation (ANC), a feature absent in the original model.
As for when we can expect the Powerbeats Pro 2 to be available and at what price, those details remain uncertain. We will keep you updated with all the latest information as it becomes available.
