Intel recently unveiled its Panther Lake chip at the Embedded World 2025 conference in Nuremberg, Germany, marking its first public appearance.
The Dutch magazine, PC Games Hardware, published photos of the chip, highlighting that this is the inaugural public showcase of the Panther Lake SoC, distinct from Intel’s former CEO Pat Gelsinger. During the event, Intel outlined its plans and timelines for the Panther Lake’s debut in 2025 and beyond, providing clearer insights into the component’s launch strategy.

Also known as the “Core Ultra 300” mobile platform, Intel is pinning hopes on the Panther Lake being a formidable chip, which will be produced using its custom 18A process. This chip follows the Core Ultra 100 “Meteor Lake,” which debuted in 2023, and the current flagship Core Ultra 200 “Lunar Lake.”
According to Wccftech, Intel’s Foundry division is relying on a successful launch of Panther Lake to enhance its market presence.
The company has laid out its intention to launch the Panther Lake-H series first, followed by the Panther Lake-HX and additional variants. The upcoming chip is expected to feature Cougar Cove P-Cores alongside Skymont E-Cores architectures, based on current reports.
Furthermore, the Panther Lake will incorporate the third-generation Xe3 graphics, known as “Celestial,” building on the second-generation Xe 2 GPU called “Battlemage.” The Xe3 is anticipated to support at least 16 cores, delivering up to 180 TOPS of AI performance, as mentioned by Wccftech.
While the Core Ultra 300 will be produced using the 18A process, PC Games Hardware noted that Intel is dividing its production responsibilities with TSMC, with the latter handling the Xe3 graphics segment of the chip.
In summary, Intel plans to formally announce the Panther Lake in the middle of 2025, with hardware partners expected to have products ready by January, aligning with the upcoming CES 2026. The technology community is eager to see how this System on Chip (SoC) will perform against next-generation offerings from competitors.
