I work as a remote correspondent for the South Asian region for Digital Phablet. And an inspiring story of M.S. autos from Karachi made me cover this guy for you.
I own a Toyota Corolla 2012 (Automatic) in Karachi where the scorching beams of the sun make the humidity so worse, that it becomes tough for a person to live with a car that doesn’t have an AC.
Luckily, my car which is as I mentioned above a Toyota Corolla 2012 (Automatic), has a great AC, but recently my AC became useless when it started constantly tripping (in easy words, even when turning the thermostat to 4, it wouldn’t cool the interior enough.
I had to visit almost every single mechanic to get this fix, from gas to leakage, everything was fine. Literally no issues, but the AC still wouldn’t cool the interior. I even checked the issue with the top 5 mechanics in my city (Karachi), and all of them said the same thing, “Change the compressor”, and replace it with a Sanden compressor from a Honda City (same model) which costs about Rs. 150,000 ($540).
Rather than falling into the trap of ifs and buts of these so-called top car AC mechanics of Karachi. I started looking out for possible solutions as I am also an Electrical Engineer. Changing the compressor and not repairing it doesn’t seem like a “Good and viable” solution to me. It seems like, if your tire gets punctured, you would mend the puncture, not change the tire, doesn’t make sense, right?
I found a guy named Shaukat (from M.S. Autos) the same guy gave the solution to my issue without even looking, and that’s where the magic happened. He said the main reason for such issues is the solenoid valve. The reason why it happens to 98% of the cars is their soneloid valve gets totalled which doesn’t allow AC to work properly.
And that solenoid valve costs about Rs. 15,000. YES! The mechanics in Karachi usually charge Rs. 150,000 for a Rs. 15,000 work just because they do not know how to fix it. They change the compressor instead of fixing the solenoid issue.
These mechanics scam lots of users of millions of rupees daily. And when we met Shaukat from M.S. Autos he further detailed how these big and small mechanics of Karachi are scamming car owners.
Shaukat imported Solenoid for me and completed everything at an 80% lower price which was quoted to me by almost every car AC mechanic in Karachi.
The solenoid looks like this:
The car compressor looks like this:
So, if you guys have any issues related to car AC or anything, M.S. Autos should be your go-to place.
