Microsoft Reintroduced This Feature in New Outlook Version

This year, Microsoft introduced a revamped version of its Outlook app, but the initial feedback has not been particularly favorable. This new iteration of Outlook is intended to take the place of both the previous version and the built-in Windows Mail & Calendar application.

To address some of the criticisms, Microsoft recently published a Windows 11 update that includes a few adjustments to the new Outlook experience. While significant design changes remain, one notable feature has made a comeback — a function that was part of the classic Outlook interface.

The feature, known as Narrator, will now automatically read out the contents of emails once again. While this may not change the minds of those who are upset with the new Outlook, it demonstrates that Microsoft is attentive to user feedback regarding the missing functionalities in the latest iteration of the app.

Additionally, Microsoft has introduced a new keyboard shortcut for Narrator. Users can now press Narrator key + control + x to copy the last speech output from the Narrator directly to their clipboard.

The Windows 11 update also includes improvements to File Explorer. Microsoft addressed an issue that caused items in the navigation pane to have unexpected spacing and another problem where RAW images taken vertically were displaying as horizontal thumbnails.

These enhancements are part of the Windows 11 Build 27749, which has been rolled out to users in the Canary Channel this week.
