ARC remains a constant threat in the world of Arc Raiders, with robots capable of causing massive destruction. Anyone who ventures into the surface world will eventually have to confront them, as ARC deploys various types of robots that are eager to hunt humans.
From the small, sneaky Tick that uses ambush tactics, to the enormous Matriarch leading a group of smaller ARC units, each robot is armed with dangerous weapons. New models keep appearing unexpectedly, and their origins are a mystery. It’s possible they are learning and evolving to better fight humanity. One of ARC’s newest creations is the Firefly.
How to Destroy Fireflies and Obtain Firefly Burners
Fireflies are flying ARC units that can appear on every map. They are more common at Spaceport and The Blue Gate, making those ideal spots to find Firefly Burners. Usually, they travel alone, but sometimes you might see them flying with Wasps and Hornets. They are different from those bugs because Fireflies have a flatter, longer shape and produce a louder, less whining engine noise.
Grenades work well against Fireflies. Since they tend to stay close to you and don’t move around wildly, tools like Seeker Grenades—which home in on enemies—or Trigger ‘Nades, which you can detonate at the right moment, are effective.
Fireflies tend to stay near you and will follow, attacking with a steady stream of fire that damages both your health and shields. Their fire does damage over time, and your health drains slightly faster when they’re nearby. The fire from their flamethrower leaves you on fire for a few seconds, continuing to cause damage.
Tips for Fighting Fireflies
Similar to Hornets, aim for the front engines of the Fireflies. Hitting these parts makes it harder for them to stay airborne, forcing them to fall to the ground, which gives you a chance to recover. This tactic also interrupts their flames, making them easier to handle.
Fireflies have more armor and durability than Hornets, so weapons with medium or higher Arc Penetration work best. The Anvil is an excellent choice because it’s easy to get from Tian Wen’s shop and is effective against these enemies.
Loot and Rewards
When you loot a Firefly, you’re guaranteed to get a Fireball Burner, along with one Simple Gun Part, five Chemicals, and an Arc Powercell. Sometimes, they may also drop Crude Explosives or Explosive Compounds. Firefly Burners are mainly used to craft the Trailblazer grenade, which requires one Synthesized Fuel, two Crude Explosives, and one Firefly Burner. You’ll need access to an Explosives Station Three and the Trailblazer Blueprint to craft it.
Additional Notes
Fireflies leave a patch of fire on the ground when they explode like a Fireball, so be cautious if they crash onto other enemies or when you’re close to looting.
